Lucy Lifschitz's Recommendations
MATH 3333 Linear Algebra I
First of all her exams are EXTREMELY STRAIGHTFORWARD! I am so used to the math teachers at OU having pretty basic exams but when finals come around they throw a curveball. Lifschitz didn't do this and I took the final this morning. I was thrilled to see five simple problems (eigenvectors and eigenvalues, kernels and range, determinants, linear transformations, etc). I could have sworn that she pulled these off the homework. But hey, I'm not complaining since the final was worth 40%. She also lets you use a calculator on the exams. Also there are two midterms during the semester worth 25% each and are pretty simple as well and usually over main topics (but she does throw in some minor things that can be easily missed). Pay attention to theorums in class since some can REALLY HELP you on the exams. Why compute things the hard way when you can use something short and easy? There are 12 homework assignments and consist of problems that deal with proofs but mostly normal stuff. HW is worth 10% and she puts all the problems online so you really never need to go to class. But I think she likes it when people come to class and pay attention. She's a nice teacher and I highly reccommend taking her course. If you are awake and do the homework and understand the material then this should be a good class for you. She wasn't as bad as so many people had told me...I really don't get where they were coming from either!

MATH 4333 Introduction To Abstract Algebra II
Very familiar with the subject matter, answers questions effectively and concisely. Particularly fair in assigning work and willing to work with the students if many take issue with the class schedule.

MATH 1823 Calculus And Analytic Geometry I
Dr. Lifschitz is an very good professor! Her tests are very straight forward and you know what to expect if you have done the homework. She is always willing to help you and answer questions in her office hours. She is a very pleasant person and I learned a lot in her class.

MATH 2423 Calculus And Analytic Geometry II
She is pretty good at explaining the material in class. She also randomly give bonus for showing up for class. In class she works several example problems. She has a very laid back grading system. 85+ is an A, 7084 is a B, and so on. The 3 tests are generally easy and the problems look like homework problems and you get to use a calculator, but the first two tests you only have one hour so you really have to know your stuff going into the test.

MATH 1823 Calculus And Analytic Geometry I
She is a VERY good teachcer, she explains everything well and is always open for questions. She is a very pleasent lady. she only gives one assignment per week and 2 tests, and then a final. The class is definately manageable.

MATH 2513 Discrete Mathematical Structures
Very organized class, makes you aware of her expectations for class and grading, excellent return time on grades, and easy to talk to in office hours.

MATH 1914 Differential And Integral Calculus I
If you are familiar with calculus then I recommend this professor. Her tests are easy, but she is sometimes confusing. She gives a 15 point curve (85+ is an A). Her tests are very straightforward. She doesn't try to trick you. Her final she gave us a study guide and the test came straight from the study guide, some with different numbers. She always gives 2 versions of the test, one is always a little easier than the other, so hope you get the easy one. Otherwise, if you can follow what she says in class, you will do fine :)

MATH 2934 Differential And Integral Calculus III
She can be quiet, but she covers the material well. The best way to do well in the class is follow along with her examples on the board. She usually curves the class so that an A is an 85%.

MATH 3333 Linear Algebra I
She is a great teacher! I loved taking her class. She explained things clearly, made sure everyone understood what she was saying before moving on to other things, and her tests were always straight forward and based off of the review. There are weekly homework assignments, but there aren't a crazy amount of problems and do not take up too much time. I would definitely suggest her to anyone.

MATH 2423 Calculus And Analytic Geometry II
There were no surprises on tests.

MATH 4323 Introduction To Abstract Algebra I
She is a very good teacher. She listens really well to your questions and answers them very well also. You can go to her office and ask her about as many of the hw problems you want and she will do them for you on the board. Very interested in helping you learn as much as possible.
