MATH 141 Business Math I
Kathryn as she preferred to be called was a very helpful professor and seemed to really care about her students learning the material. She was often in her office, even sometimes when she didn't have office hours and was always willing to help. She does give 10 points extra credit at the beginning of the semester if you stop by her office and just say hi. Throughout the semester she also has bonus homework or quizzes that made up around another 7-8 points of extra credit. (Believe me this really helps your grade.) We had a total of 3 tests and the final, 12 quizzes (she took the best 10) and 12 homework assignments (once again took the best 10). The homework really helped everyone's grade out because this is done mostly over the computer and you have 3 hours for every 5 tries that you take. Basically there is no reason not to get a 100 on every homework. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
If you did good in high school math, you won't have to spend every day studying. I never did any suggested homework and made an A in the class. As long as you pay attention to the lectures and understand the questions on the online quizzes, you should be fine. Though some tests were long for a MWF class time, none were impossible. Quizzes are over material learned in the 2 or 3 lectures before, which is why attendance is important. She also gave extra credit for going to office hours the first few weeks to meet her, which was like a free quiz grade. She is helpful when you have questions, and there are also help sessions and Week-in-Reviews you can attend for extra help. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I wish she was teaching 142 next semester because I would take her again! Math has always been an easy subject for me, so I didn't fine this class to be unbearable even though I know several people who dreaded it. She provides notes on her website, so you just print them off and then go to class. GO TO CLASS. Its definitely helpful to see her work the problems instead of learning it on your own. The book usualy does it a harder way. DO THE SUGGESTED HOMEWORK, and don't get behind on it. I did the suggested homework for every section, and it definitely helped me keep up. This way, I never had to spend hours on end reviewing for her exams. The online homework is not an issue. Her tests are slightly harder than the quizzes or the homework, but still possible. I made A on the first test, a B on the second, and an A on the third. And the mistakes I made were little errors. I never didn't know what to do on a problem. She is a good professor, so if math isn't an issue for you, TAKE HER! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She lets you do everything on the calculator so you don't have to do all the confusing stuff by hand. The way she explains things makes it so easy to understand. She's probably the best prof I had this semester. She wants you to understand everything and she really does care!!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I thought the class was very well taught. She didn't do anything that didn't pertain to the material. She is overall an excellent teacher. Her tests aren't too bad. I pulled good grades on all of them. But you do have to study for them and keep up with the material. Don't skip this class too much. You will get behind easily. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Dr. Bollinger is a great prof who explains all material very well. She learns everyones name and will readily make appointments outside of her office hours to help her students. Her tests are difficult to finish within the alloted time period, so be sure you know all material that will be covered on the test well, or you wont finish. Overall, Dr. Bollinger is awsome! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Despite what some people say, Kathryn was a very good teacher for Math 141. I have read many reviews that say she is mean, unfair, etc. This is very untrue. Don't get me wrong, she expects you to take care of business, but she is not mean or unfair. Sometimes she will call you out in class to make sure you pay attention, but that is for your benefit. If you use her office hours, she is very friendly and helps you through any problem/question you may have. She teaches very thoroughly and gives plenty of examples and extra help available. I would definitely take a course from her again. As for the gripey people, take care of business and don't fall asleep in class and you wouldn't get your feelings hurt. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Professor Bollinger did a good job teaching, she always made sure that we, as students, were comfortable with what we were wokring on. She also made herself available outside of class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She was a great prof. I have never been good at math, but she explained it in a way that was easy to understand. She is really nice and gave us 1 extra quiz and homework assignment so we can drop the lowest of the 2. I'm probably going to make an A and I am taking her for 142. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She explained very well and was very open to questions and offered a lot of office hours. She lectured very well and used slides with tons of example problems. You could tell she wanted you to do well in her class if you were willing to try. There was a quiz almost every week (mostly on Fridays) but they were do-able if you have been paying attention in class. The graded homework was primarily online with a couple take home quizzes. The material really wasn't that hard if you went to class and kept up with your suggested homework from the book. She loves to use the calculator for everything, which made the whole class so much easier. Bollinger tells you exactly what you need to do to make a good grade in her class, so if you follow what she says, you will be successful! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She teaches the material excellently. All of her notes are on the web and you just print them off before class, then fill them in as she lectures. She does a great job of going at a normal pace of teaching and answering all questions. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Bollinger's class is a great one for sophomores or entering freshman. She has a very fast-paced style, but she makes it easy to understand. Her exams allow you a lot of room for partial credit. She actually livens up math and wants you to know the material. Highly recommended. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She's such a great prof. She explains math in a very direct way with lots of shortcuts. It's very easy to change your grade in her course since there are so many assignments. She's very available for help. I highly recommend going to her extended office hours before exams. Very relaxed and down to earth. I wish I could fit her into my schedule next semester. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is a very good teacher. She posts notes online which you print out and take to class. She goes over ALL the notes unlike a lot of teachers that just go through some then expect you to do the rest on your own. She explains everything well and tests aren't to bad. All her test info comes straight from the notes and the suggested hw(you need to do the suggested hw). If you do the suggested hw, the worst grade your going to get is a B. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
The class was difficult (for me--for any major not in the liberal arts college it should be simple) but she presented the material very well and she was always available to help. She has lots of office hours but make sure you get there early because her little office fills up really fast with people needing help...She's very sympathetic and gives you lots of grades/chances to pull your average up. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
College math is much different from high school math so the class is going to be hard no matter who it is taught from. She is a really good teacher with lots of examples. there is alot of work and online homework but if you do all of it and the suggested homework you will be fine. do NOT go into the class and bomb the first test, most people then spend the whole semester just trying to pull their grade up. She is really helpful during office hours and wants you to understand math so ask for help, in class she seems a little mad to be there sometimes but in her office she helps so much! take advantage of every extra point opportunity it will help you out so much, make sure u do them all at the beginning of the semester because u will prolly need the points later. do NOT text on your cell phone during class she does not like that and will call u out on it. sit in the front and you will pay more attention. just make sure u ask for help when you need it and really listen to her advice itll help u make good grades!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Kathryn is a great prof! I hate math and actually have always sucked but she explains everything so well. She is straight forward which can seem mean but she isn't when you get to know her. She cares about her students and wants you to succeed. She will spend any amount of time with you as long as she sees you are trying. Go to class and do all the homework and she will help you out when you need it. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
First off, Kathryn let us call her by her first name, does not require the Dr. Or Mrs....Just Kathryn. She also learns her students names..i was amazed that she knew everyones name in my class. She is very easy to communicate with during her office hours. She has 90% of her notes online to print and she explains material in a manner where you can understand it. She also lets her students use the calculator on many problems that other teachers dont. Another plus for her is partial credit on exams, it really helped me out. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Kathryn is a great professor. She taught the class well and was available outside of class if you didn't understand. The class has 3 tests (100 pts each)and a cumulative final (200 points). 100 points come from homework and 100 points come from quizzes. Each quiz is worth 10 points, and each homework is worth 10 points. There will be extra grades so you will have a couple of drops for each section. A total of 700 points are available. If you do poorly on a test, but you do really well on the final. She will drop your low test grade and replace it with your final exam grade. I recommend this professor. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is the BEST teacher for 141, and I am taking her for 142 next semester cuz she teaches it so well, BUT her tests are kinda hard to get a high A on if you dont do ALOT of HW, but she gives LOTS of partial credit and it really doesnt matter cuz she is a GREAT TEACHER!!! It is all up to you how much work you ACTUALLY do, you have/know exactly what to do to get an A, you just have to do it. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Kathyrn is an awesome prof and person. Yes, she is demanding but then again, math is precise. She does not use scantrons except on the final. On her regular exams partial credit is given if you make a mistake early in the problem. And on the final, if you are on the 'bubble', then she will look at your work to see if it will help your grade. GO TO CLASS....and GO TO HER OFFICE!!! She is an extremely helpful person! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Very helpful. Always has Week-in-Reviews that you can go and review everything you've learned. Does a lot to get you some extra credit, and drops your lowest quiz and homework grades. Don't skip class, stop by her office for help, and speak up in class and she'll help you out if it comes down to a few points. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Bollinger was an excellent professor. She is extremely knowledgeable in the subject she teaches, as well as a very thorough on her notes. There was assigned homework as well as suggested. In which most of the assigned problems come from the suggested. She cares an enormous amount about the students in her classes. She would do any extra thing to help her students, regardless on where or when. She is very willing to put in her time if you will. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
if i were to ever have to take a math course on this campus again, i would DEFINITELY want kathryn to teach it. she really wants her students to do well, but if you dont go to class, she is understandably a little less willing to help out. go to class, go to her office, make sure you try, its not that bad. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Cared whether or not you did well in class. Explained material very well. Very helpful in office hours. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is awesome. I thought she taught like a high school teacher. It is faster but you are in college now, so it is going to be faster. Her tests are hard, but if you study you will be fine. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Bollinger is a great teacher. As far as math profs go she is the best I've had. She gives weekly homeworks and quizzes so you will need to go to class pretty much everyday. She is a good lecturer and always willing to help her students. Take her if you have to take MATH 141! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ms. B is really nice and gets to know each one of her students. shes sarcastic and funny and one of the best teachers i have had for math. she gives you a copy of sample tests and review questions that are really helpful |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ms. Bollinger is an awesome prof!!!!! I find math fairly easy, but i still think that if i didn't, she would be an excellent teacher. She goes fast, but its easy to understand. She does a great job of explaining everything so everyone can understand. She is very open to questions and helps as much as she can. At the beginning of class she offers 10 extra points for just goin to her office and meeting her. I would definately take this class with her. She doesnt curve...but thats ok....what else can i say SHE IS THE BEST MATH PROF!!!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Bollinger is willing to help if you go to her office. In my opinion math 141 should be easy, but guess what its really not. I took calculus in highschool thinking this class would be easy, and to my surprise I will probably get a b. Go to the week-in-review more then likely she will put at least one of the harder problems she doesn't go over in class (only the week in review) on the test. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Katheryn was great! I had done some of this stuff in high school but I never really understood it until I took this class. If you do what she asks you will make at least a B. I highly recommend her. She give extra quizzes and homework so that your lowest grades are droped. She is the BOMB! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
a great prof. my weakest subject is math but she does a really good job teaching it, if you attend class regularly and try to go to the SI's you should get at least a B. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ms. Bollinger is a great prof who really takes time to get to know her students and teach them the material. Math is important to her and she's extremely good at it, she can do anything. She's there when you need help and really tries to fit her office hours around your schedule. TAKE HER! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Kathryn was a great teacher. I never considered myself a math person, but she explained everything very thouroughly, had awesome fill in notes that you print and take to class, and we did several examples in class. She had lots of office hours time and would really make sure you understood the subject. She does have a little bit of an odd personality, but she is very helpful and nice if you get to know her. All I did was do my mandatory homework, go to class every day, and go to office hours if I didn't understand something, and I ended up with a high B, which would have been an A if I hadn't been gone for 3 days. I highly recommend taking her during the summer: it goes by quick! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
mrs bollinger is a good teacher but gets a little peeved if the class talks alot. the subject is really easy and any prof is good. mrs bollinger is one of the better ones though. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Kathryn is great. You never need to read the book as long as you go to class. She will make it easy to learn the material and she has plenty of chances to work outside of class with her. If you do the voluntary homework you'll do fine. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
A very good teacher. Kathryn seriously wants everyone to learn her stuff. Is willing to help if you go to office hours, and actually likes to get to know her students. She knows the names of everyone in her classes, and takes a mental count of who's there and not. There are random in-class assignments and quizzes, so you want to be in class. Even though she doesn't take formal attendance, she knows who's been in class and who hasn't. So, if you're on the border of a letter grade at the end of semester, having been in class will help. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I think Ms Bollinger is a good prof ..she graduated from A&M so that is good ..Whoop !..and she also has a good since of humor ..but very sarcastic...but that can be fun.she gives a lot of quizes so that way she can drop some...but the test are hard to finish in time...so be prepared to go fast on the test.....she is very helpful and offers you her time .....good prof to take..i am taking her for 142 |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is very neat and organized so if you care about getting your quizzes/tests back, you will like her. Her fill-in notes are available online so you can just print them out and work through her notes while she's teaching them in class. Also, her tests are not all multiple choice so there is partial credit which helps out your test grade quite a bit. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Kathryn really knows what she's teaching & does it very well. There are video lessons due every sunday, tuesday and thursday night. Some find them helpful, others don't. They are the main lecture, so pay attention! 90% of homework is due online once a week. Tests are managable and straightforward as long as you do your work, the only issue is you only get 50 minutes. rnrnProbably the best 141 professor when it comes to teaching. The only downside is she is not the easiest person to get along with. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
TAKE THIS PROF. I know some people's reviews say she's grouchy and not easy, but trust me, she really really really is the best math 141 prof (and one of the best profs at A&M). Her personality doesn't really matter when it comes to what grade you want in the class. For me, she made this course an easy easy easy A. I have a lot of friends that got A's and some that got B's. We aren't geniuses, we just went to class and did what she asked us to do. TAKE HER. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Great teacher. Really great. Everything was actually really easy for me to understand and master. She goes through lots of examples which is always helpful and puts stuff in the notes that actually relates to the test material. Basically, all the concepts on the test, she's given us more than enough practice on to do well on the tests. I'm pretty good at math, and got high A's on almost every assignment/quiz/test so a person who is average in math shouldn't have a problem making a low A in the class. She has a lot of suggested homework, but it's honestly not necessary. Just go to class everyday, do all of the outside assignments, and making an A shouldn't be a problem. Partial credit on tests which is AWESOME. LIFE SAVING. Also, you'll really learn a lot in this class, and the finance section is actually really helpful for when you need to take out loans, buy a house/car, etc. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I have had great luck with all my math profs, and Kathryn is no different. The best thing about her class is that even though she has 400 students, she knows and remembers everyones names. I'm in math 131 now, and the material is worked through at a MUCH slower pace in math 141. Kathryn is always available during office hours to help you with any questions you may have. GO to her office hours. If she knows you personally, and knows that you work hard in her class, i.e do your suggested book homework, your online homework, and go to her office hours, there's a good chance she'll bump your grade up at the end of the semester. DO NOT take your cellphone into her classroom, and you'll be fine. LOVE this professor. Recommended her to all my friends who had to take 141. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
All math classes are hard, but out of all the math teachers, she's probably the best. She posts section notes for each chapter. Print them out and you follow along in class (it's very helpful!). She actually teaches compared to some of the other professors, and cares if you do well. She always has office hours and you can email her about anything. She also makes a huge effort to actually know your name. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She's a great teacher!!! She gives you several opportunities to do well in her class and gives a suggested homework list. I found this very helpful when studying for test. The webassign homework is super easy and you get more than one try to get it correct. The tests and quizzes are exactly like the notes she goes over in class. Her notes are very detailed and helpful. Take her!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Kathryn is a great teacher. She is always prepared for class, she thoroughly explains the material, and she has lots of quizzes, in-class assignments, and homework which are really helpful for doing well on the tests. She has a strict no cell phone policy, which helps those who are easily distracted when learning math. She cares about her students and wants everyone to do well. She isn't easy, but she teaches you. If you do everything that she suggests, then you should do well in the class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Kathryn Bollinger is by far the best math professor I've had at A&M. She's been teaching this subject for a long time so she knows the best way for students to understand. Notes were easy to follow and the tests weren't too hard, as long as you study. As long as you put effort into learning the material, it isn't hard to get an A. Definitely recommend her! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Bollinger is a great math prof! I'm not that good at math, but she explains everything really well. There are four tests, including a cumulative final, but they aren't too bad if you put the work into it. This is one of those classes where your grade truly reflects the work you put into it. Overall, I definitely recommend her. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She was very good at her job and forced students to learn the material. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She was well-organzed and really knows how to teach the information |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Good teacher, have to go to class though, but you'll learn the material well enough and not have to do as much outside of class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Professor Bollinger is an Awesome teacher. She is really strict but that's a good thing. If you need help, it is easy to contact her, and if she can't help at the time, there is always a TA that can help you with homework. Tests were fair, not easy not hard, you do have to spend some time studying. Her lectures are really straight forward, interesting, and clear. Oh, and she will remember EVERYONE's name! Overall good professor! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is extremely knowledgable and her notes are easy to follow. Maybe not the easiest professor, but she is definitely really good. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is an amazing teacher! She is definitely my favorite professor so far. She is strict, but kind of has to be in order to get things done and truly teach the material. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Professor Bollinger REALLY knows her stuff. She's a great teacher, and she does lots of examples and makes the material make sense. A lot of math professors know math, but not many can teach it as well as she can. Homework isn't hard, though going to class is a must. She won a most outstanding teacher award for fall 2011! Week in reviews were super helpful, people from other classes came to hers because she taught way better than their teachers. I would take another class from her. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
By far the best professor I have ever had. She is very strict, and has a no electronic (other than calculator) policy, however you can find all her notes on her website at the beginning of the semester which she goes straight through over the smart board. I had them all printed, hole punched, and put in a binder at office depot for just over $10. I was great to have the whole course lined out at the beginning of the year. She is a fair grader and truly cares about you learning. If you are someone who will put the time to go to class, and do the minimal amount of outside work she is a perfect professor. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Best prof i have ever had |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Professor Bollinger is awesome. She is very good at explaining the problems and she can answer any questions you have. She provides ample amounts of help hours. She gives quizzes and/or in class assignments pretty much every class. They are all very easy, exactly what you just finished learning five minutes before, and they help boost your grade. The textbook is not essential, you can access it online. Do the practice problems and suggested homework. The more you practice the better grades you will get. I love math. Math is fun. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
teaches well and grades fairly |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Great teacher! Knew the material she taught very well and offered plenty of help out of class through review sessions and office hours. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She's helpful and a great professor. She takes teaching very serious. Explains everything in debt. She has week in reviews, in which she goes over the material of the previous week. Very friendly out of class. She manages to learn EVERYONES name by the end of the semester. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Best math prof I've taken so far. I've taken two math classes here and didn't do well in either of them, but I ended up getting a B in Bollinger's class. She's great at explaining things, and she seems to really care about us learning the material. The only bad thing about her is that she's too sarcastic sometimes and the no cell phone rule (before class starts). |

MATH 141 Business Math I
You can tell she really wants everyone to learn. She is an excellent teacher. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Teaches material to where it is usually easy to understand. I definitely recommend her, especially since I was helping my friend who had a different professor but the same class, and his professor either went too quickly or was confusing most of the time. |

P Poage

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is awsome. I am not that good at math, but she helped me to understand. Bottom Line: TAKE POAGE!!!!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Dr. Poage is amazing! She is upfront on what she expects but helps you out if you make the effort for her. Class consisted of lecture, make some funny jokes, lecture some more. It sounds boring but she makes sure to get you into it as much as possible, but it's math so that's difficult. There were a few quizes but you usually knew about them or so she reviewed right before class. We would usually have one or two daily grades (one or two page print out about a lesson) every other week. The tests aren't so bad as long as you went to class and did the daily grades. She is very organized so you never have to wonder when things are due. This year she ran the NYC marathon so we had internet class which consisted of watching a video of her doing problems. She is a master at explaining things to you in a way that we can understand and is always willing to answer questions. She posts her notes on her website but you have to come to class to fill them in. She doesn't care about attendance but if you miss a quiz because you skipped she won't help you out. Dr. Poage usually sits in the classroom before class and talks to us, asking us how our week has gone, if we have any tests, just stuff that make you feel comfortable talking to her. She really wants to know you and has a fun assignment at the beginning of the semester to learn your name and face. She's just a really cool person. :) (she has facebook too) |

MATH 141 Business Math I
dr poage was a super super teacher. her notes are printed out with spaces to fill in the problem work. she breaks things down so it is easy to understand! wonderful prof!!! A++++++ |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She was the best prof I have ever had. She was very easy to talk to and even though she gave frequent homework assignments they didn't take much time and they helped to raise your grade. If you were willing to study her tests were very simple. She gives plenty of practice exams that are very similiar to the real ones and makes it very clear exactly what will be on the test. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Dr. Poage was a wonderful professor. She really got me interested in math again. She makes it fun and easy. I took her during the summer and the class moved very quickly, which I preffered. The notes were printed off the internet and she followed them very closely during class. The homework problems assigned were good enough to help you learn the basics of the mathematical concepts illustrated during class, but the daily grades and practice tests were the most help. She doesn't vary much in the type or difficulty of question she asks and this was helpful when studying. The tests were easy and there were no trick questions - it was straight from the homework, daily grades, and practice exams. She was extremely helpful during office hours (especially if you are going to miss a day and request the notes in advance) and once I came late to class and she still let me see the notes. I can't wait to take STAT in the fall she made math so much fun. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Very good teacher, must take for math 141. Very helpful and definately knows her stuff. Explains everything well and gives lots of outside help. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Dr. Poage is very nice and friendly. She has numerous old tests online as well as answer keys and they are always there. She made class interesting and there was plenty of outside help available. Attendance was not mandatory but there were pop quizzes. Grades come from homework, quizzes, and exams. Homeworks were not difficult and consisted of 10 or less problems. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
interested in subject matter and the learning of her students. considerate of those who are falling back in class. web site A+++ |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I took MATH 141 with Dr. Poage in the fall of 2006. I am absolutely horrible at Math but Dr. Poage makes things a lot easier. She is friendly and funny, and memorizes the names of almost every single student. The advisors even say she is the best professor choice for the business math classes. If you have to take math, she is the only choice! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mrs. Poage is an awesome prof! Math was never my strong suit but she explained everything thoroughly and helped to make the class interesting; I ended up doing very well in her class. She is caring and willing to help outside of class at any time you need her. She gives easy optional quizzes towards the end of the course that really help to boost your grade. If you are going to take Math 141, definitely take it from her! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Dr. Poage is super awesome! She will do her best to help you if you do not understand. She takes her time to explain what is going on and she does not mind going over things again if you are having trouble. She encourages you to print out lecture notes ahead of time so you do not have to write a ridiculous amount of explanations. She makes worksheets due at certain times but they are not too difficult especially if you get together with a few people to work it out. She also gives a few quizzes during the semester. Some of them she will tell you about and others are 'pop' quizzes but she really emphasizes you need to know the material when she wants to give a 'pop' quiz. Her tests are somewhat difficult but reviews in and out of class give examples that are close, if not the same, as test questions. She also posts all of her old tests online so you can get an idea of how she works her tests. There are 3 exams and a comprehensive final. Each test during the semester has multiple choice and workout problems but the number of each varies on each test. The final is strictly multiple choice. I know it seems horrible that the final is comprehensive but she tells you what parts of each chapter to look over and how many questions from each old test will be on the final. Attendance is not mandatory but it definately helps you. I STRONGLY recommend her if you can get her! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Doctor P is an amazing professor! She's the best prof here when it comes to Math 141/142, and you'll have a great time taking it with here. She interesting, makes the course fun, and is always willing to help. The course consists of three exams (20% of grade each), and a cumlative final (20% of grade), daily grades (10%), and online quizes (10%). If you keep up in class, and even do half of the suggest homework, you should have no problem with an A. She's always available and willing to help. Great person outside the classroom as well. Highly recommend her! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
This is an awesome teacher!! Definitely one of the best, if not THE best I've ever had. She's very fair, makes the class interesting, and has a great teaching style that makes it easy to understand. I wish more teachers could be like her. You're very lucky if you get to have her as your prof! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She teaches only what you really need to know. She is easy to understand because she speaks in plain english and explains everything. She is open to questions and teaches things slowly enough to understand. She also has everything online, from lecture notes to homework to test grades. She is young and sometimes tells stories about her life. You can look at her website at http://www.math.tamu.edu/~poage/ |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mrs. Poage is a great teacher. She is energetic (begins each day with a Howdy) and very approachable. She often sits with students before class(she knows every students name and face) and talks about anything and everything. Homework is not turned in although it helps during tests. 11 fairly easy quizes throughout the semester bring up your grade. Tests are not too bad. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She actually teaches MATH, not how to memorize formulas. It's not that it's an easy class, because it isn't. But you will come out understanding the material. I had her for an 8 o'clock, and i never missed it. That's how good she is. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is definitely the best math teacher I have ever had. There are 3 tests, a comprehensive final, and about 15 daily grades. There's suggested homework that I always did. It definitely helped me make an A in the class. Her notes are online. You print them off and fill them out in class. Attendance isn't mandatory but it definitely helps to go. She learned the names of every one of her students within the 1st few weeks of class. She has good office hours and is willing to help you if you need it. I would definitely take Poage again. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Great teacher. She's young but extremely smart. If you don't understand what she's talking about, she'll always explain it another way too. The class can get confusing but she is definately a good professor. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
BEST TEACHER AT A&M! I can't believe there are actually people who fail this class. She tells you straight-forward that the questions come from homework, worksheets, and old tests (which are posted on her webpage). And sure enough...every question on the test I had seen before...NO SURPRISES! I wish she taught other subjects as well as math. There need to be more teachers like her at A&M. AMAZING!!!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Kickass Prof. if you have to take 141 take her. You have to go to class but it is easy and she makes it as least boring as possible. She knows her stuff and she teaches you how to do the math, she doesn't want you to memorize a bunch of formulas. Also she is VERY MUCH IN LOVE WITH THE CALCULATOR, so you need one a TI-83. Take Poage. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is an excellent prof! She is very intelligent, but teaches the math at a level that I could understand. She is also funny. I actually looked forward to going to her class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Poage is such a good prof. She's so personable. She even learns the names of all of her students. She lets you go to her office and work on your homework to get help. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She has to be the best prof A&M has. She could teach 142 to a person without a brain. I got a B in the class, but only because I made a bad grade on my first test. All you need to study for the test are her notes, which you print off the web, and homework probs. The test is VERY similar to these probs. About 13 quizes, but she will drop the lowest grades after 10. I dont know what else to say about her but TAKE HER!!!!!!!!! Again, SHE IS THE BEST PROF AT A&M. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is an awsome teacher and was always ready to help. I didn't go to any of the reviews and I still got an A in the class. I do recommend doing the suggested homework though because it helps. Her tests and quizes are not to bad as long as you do the homework. She goes slow and makes sure everyone understands before continuing. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Patrice is the BEST PROF here at A&M she teaches the material so well that you can help but learn it. I have her for 141 and 142 at the same time! And b/c she is so awesome it is easier to make taking 2 math classes at the same time easier. SHE IS A MUST TAKE, if you can't take her wait till you can. It will be well worth it. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
This is the best teacher I think I've had at A&M. She was awesome! She knows it all and she's willing to admit and change an answer if you find something wrong. She was always there to help during her office hours and welcomed your questions. I had no pre-cal or math the year before i took this class and I failed her final because I didn't study and I still made a B in her class. She is happy to answer any questions you might have and to explain your tests if you don't understand something. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
OMG! She is SUCH a great teacher. Going in as a freshman i was kinda worried on how hard the classes were but this one definetly calmed my nerves. Go to class and listen to what she says and u will have no problem |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She's an awesome 141 prof, it's not an easy class but if you put the work into it you'll do fine. She'll always try to work around your schedule to help you. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
OK, Poage rocks! She is a real awesome teacher, she is fair, friendly, and tries to make jokes and relate with the class. She has some funny stories every now and then. Poage doesn't give out lots of homework, she explains all her steps very well, and her tests do not try to trick students on purpose. This is the best math teacher I've ever had...if I could, I'd give her a 6. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mrs. Poage is AWESOME! I had another prof for 141 my first semester here and dropped it b/c I was going to fail, but I tried 141 again and now I have an A and its all b/c of Mrs. Poage. She actually speaks English, which is rare and she is so fun! Take her Take her Take her. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
explains the material very well, is readily available for help if needed, keepse your attention in class, grades fairly, tells you what you need to know...good prof. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Dr. Poage was an awesome professor! She makes class entertaining and explains everything well. Studying for her tests are easy because her website has her past tests. If you can do those you know you'll be fine. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Poage is an excellent prof. She does relate to the students quite well and heaven forbide, know your name. That impressed me. It is hard to do poorly in her class and she helps if you are. So if you want to take her, do. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Poage is a good prof. She really knows math, and makes her class fun! The only thing i disliked about her class was the Multiple Choice questions on the tests, because you get no partial credit on them. But, she does give extra quizzes and lets you drop a few of the lowest grades! I got a B. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I swore that if I had to take 142 here I would only take it from poage. She makes everything easy to understand and will go out of her way to help you. Her tests are not easy, but she really prepares you for them. She won't put anything on the tests that she didn't cover in class or in the homework. I had this class at 8 am and always loved going to it. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Very nice professor and very willing to help her students. The material isn't too bad.. there are takehome assignments weekly to help boost test grades, and prof. Poage is a very nice woman. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
she is so nice, easy to talk to and always willing to help you! take her! she posts old test online with the anwsers so studying is easy! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I think the key to a good grade in math is part student related and part teacher related. Mrs. Poage held up her end of the bargain. She is a wonderful teacher. She is funny and down to earth and very helpful if you ever need her. If you attend class and work hard and do you job I assure you she will do hers. Her tests were pretty normal for math 141 test and quizzes are weekly, but that is pretty much in every class. I am telling you if you get her you wont regret it. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
The best math instructer I've ever had. She is fun and wants you to learn. Plenty of help is available and the tests and quizzes are fair. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
great prof so long as you go to class! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
If you have to take Math, take Poage. You won't regret it. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
If you can get into her class, take her. She is the best Prof I have ever had. Extremely smart, motivated and simple. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Definitely knows his stuff, he curves honors by about 2 points on the final average (i don't know if he does for his regular classes or not). His tests are harder than the homework or class stuff, so make sure you know the material. He covers everything in class, and has extra sample problems and test reviews that prepare you pretty well. All in all, a good prof. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I loved Joe. I thought the atmosphere of his classroom was wondering and actually quite enjoyable. He is kinda dorky and tells corny jokes, but at least it keeps you entertained. His class is very routine, so if you like routine, you'll love this class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He really wants his students to learn. I took him for two semesters 141 and 131, because I knew he was an excellent teacher. I went to almost every office hour and did some of the suggested hw (only on the topics I didn't understand) and made an A on both classes. It wasn't an easy A, but I made it. He doesn't curve at all, but will look at borderline grades. It depends on how you did on the final. The final is easy because it is cummulative. I know that doesn't sound easy but it is. He only has like one question of each topic because there is so little time. If you don't know about a topic, it won't hurt you because there is only one question. I got sick the week of finals so I only had time to look over notes. I ended up making 90's on both exams. 141 is a bit easier than 131(calculus) and I took calculus in high school. In 141, the topics are a bit challenging at first because it is new material but you have enough time to learn the concepts. The same for calculus. It's easy if you know it, but it's not hard to learn it. In 131 it just barely touches the surface. You just need to know basic integration and basic derivatives. Not only that, just how to apply them. Just take his class. Math is math. You either get it or you don't. He is so willing to help you learn the topic. You couldn't ask for a better professor. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He is so willing to help. Office hours saved my life. He will sit there and help you until you understand as long as he thinks you're putting in some effort too. If you slack off and dont do anything and expect him to help you you're not going to make it. The assigned homeworks were pretty dang hard but they make the test so much easier. Even if you think you know what you're doing on the homework...i suggest going to office hours because there are always some tricks to it. I hate math. Im not a math person...im a liberal arts major...and i did fine in the class. Made a B. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
This class can be difficult. Don't wait till the last minute to do homework because it will hurt you. Also, turn in every homework and try your best on every quiz because they help your grade. All of the tests are workout and no multiple choice so you can receive partial credit most of the time. When you are doing your homeworks look at the suggested homework because alot of times a few questions are exactly from those and it tells you how to solve them. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He's really enthusiastic about math! I personally love his corny math jokes. They make the class easier to get through. I've noticed that the way Joe teaches and runs his class is significantly better than the way other 141 teachers do it. If you come to class, do the assigned homework along with extra homework for practice, and study a decent amount, you should get at least a B on every test. He's very friendly and EXTREMELY accessible if you need help. Also...there are NO iLrn quizzes in his class =) |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Joe is exretemely approachable and very ready to help you learn the material. I usually went to office hours once a week (lots of people do) and went over homework the day before the weekly quiz and he was always really helpful and definately knows what he is talking about and likes teaching the material. If you go to class and do your work you can definately get an A. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He is a great prof. He's always willing to help if you have questions. He's in his office when he says he'll be. He tells you what you really need to work on. And he's funny. I really enjoyed his class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I had Joe for Math 141 honors, and could not have picked a better prof. I found the material very confusing in class, and went to his office hours fairly often. He was very helpful there and I thought was able to explain things much better in that extra time. Joe has a good (sarcastic) sense of humor, but also he cares very much about his students and how they are understanding the material! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Joe is a great teacher. He knows his stuff and is very willing to help you out if you come into his office. His tests are hard, but the subject matter is hard. Some people don't appreciate his sarcasm but if you look past that, there is just a good math prof. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Good Professor. Presents information very clearly. Gives good examples of problems. Tests can be a little tough. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Joe is a good teacher, just make sure to do the practice problems and the modules. he's really willing to give help if you need it and extremely flexible when it comes to tests and when you want to take them. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He will help you with anything and his jokes can be pretty funny! He hates the modules too so he gives you 5 tries and you only have to get 8 of 10 to have 100% credit! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He is very helpful and kind. If you need any help go to his office hours and he will never turn you away!! Gives lots of examples. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He made things very easy to understand. Homework wasn't too hard and can really help your average. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I enjoyed Joe's class as much as anyone can enjoy an 8am math class. He gives you plenty of homework, but not too much. If you do the homework, you should be able to do well on the exams. He gave us 3 8-10 question tests, and a cumulative final. The tests are hard, but they test you over stuff he has taught you. He does move incredibly fast, but there is a lot of material to cover. He's always willing to help during class and during his office hours. Be prepared for some lame jokes though (I think he said he subscribes to the Bad Pun of the Day newsletter or something). Oh, and if you ask a dumb question, he'll point it out, but hey, if it weren't for the jokes and the sarcasm, I probably would've dropped the class. I didn't do an amazing amount of work, and I expect a B. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
There is a multitude of out-of-class resources at your disposal from his website. This was instrumental in studying and preparing for all the exams. Excellent resources. His teaching style was informative and helpful in learning the material, he really knows what he is doing and knows how to relate it to the students. You should never miss his class, he moves quickly and sometimes it can be difficult to learn completely on your own outside of class. The cumulative homework grade counts as a test grade in it of itself, this is incredibly helpful. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Joe is an incredible professor. He offers lots of help and problem solving strategies both in class and during his office hours. He grades fairly. He puts dozens of practice problems on his website for each chapter, and sometimes he even uses some of those as test questions. His corny jokes aren't funny, but they're kind of endearing. He loves to get to know his students. He expects a lot of them, but he truly wants them to succeed. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Joe is so cheesy and kept me up at 8:00 am. I really liked his teaching but he generally goes really fast through his lectures so that can be hard. He posts his notes online though. There is SOOOOOO much help in this class. Whether it's his video solutions, week in reviews, probability handout, or just extra homework problems, there is SO much help! Although, my advice to anyone taking this class is to try to solve the problem on your own. Even if you THINK you've tried everything, keep trying, take a break, come back, and try again. I PROMISE, if you can do the problems on your own then you will be fine. Overall, Joe is an awesome professor that knows what he is talking about and is more than happy to help! I promise an A is possible in this class, you just have to put effort into his class (Like any other college class) and not cram the night before his tests. I definitely recommend him! :) Oh and also, no quizzes ;) |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Joe is amazing teacher. He gives you real world examples on problems and make them very funny. His jokes are so corny you can't help but laugh and they keep you interested in the class. Honestly, I suck at math and i've kept an A in the class. Now, this isn't to say he isn't challenging. Joe is extremely smart but he also knows how to teach the material to the class. He makes the problems challenging but explains them in a way that is very obvious. PLEASE take him. He is THE BEST math teacher at A&M! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Awesome professor. Joe really likes what he does, and it shows through his teaching. He uses notepad to teach, and all the answers to reviews and practice probelms are available on his website, along with video and audio of Exam reviews. This helped me a ton, especially when finals came around. It is really hard to not pass this class, especially if you take advantage of all your resources. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Joe was a really great professor who cared about his students. This class is mostly for people not seeking a degree related to math, and he understood that. He spent a lot of time in his lectures relating the information to a real-life situation. He knows that many people grow angry with math because they think we'll never need to know any of the information, so he always fixes that problem. He doesn't take attendance, but has given a few pop-quizzes when the classroom looked too empty for his liking. He gives quizzes every Wednesday, so you should go to class those days. His exams were not hard, and he gives partial credit. If you don't understand his lectures, A Plus Tutoring always helped me. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Joe Kahlig is probably one of my favorite teachers. Math 141 is NOT a favorite though. He tries his best to make it make sense. He has lots of old tests and worked examples online. I really felt overwhelmed at first but A+ helped me a lot. I went to class to see the notes but it really made more sense in tutoring. I did not find the SIs to be necessary but I know lots of people like them. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Joe is a really good professor. He is extremely helpful and cares if his students learn the material. He attempts to make the material interesting. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
"Joe" keeps class interesting. It was easy to pay attention in class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Really nice and helpful, he's a dork but tries to make class enjoyable. The quizzes were somewhat unfair I thought. He makes hard material easy to learn but you have to go to class. He posts really helpful exam reviews (videos) online. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Easy to understand lessons, very helpful during office hours, lots of practice problems available for study help |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Joe is easily the best math professor on campus for the core curriculum math classes that everyone has to take. He is exceptional at explaining concepts and is always available to help during his office hours. Because of his outstanding teaching, I made an A on every exam in his class, including the final. Wish I could've taken more courses from him! Fun, caring prof. |

I REALLY liked Ben. He was a really good teacher. Very young and approachable. I actually learned a lot in his class. His graded homework was online and wasn't too hard, and his suggested homework really helped me improve my test grades. His tests weren't too hard if you put the effort in to practice. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ben was an amazing professor. He's young--when I took him he was fresh out of grad school, but surprisingly this only enhanced his value as a professor because he can really relate to students. He is very helpful and teaches the material logically. He says at the beginning of the class that he wants to help students who have trouble with math. He puts notes online for all of the classes, and gives suggested homework at the beginning of the semester. Doing suggested homework is the only time you will need the book, so if you can share a book or if you are naturally good at math I would suggest not buying it--I regretted having to shell over 100 bucks for it. Online homework is due every Thursday, and it can be rather time consuming but if you do it it will improve your grade. He also has quizzes every week, but he won't tell you ahead of time which day of the week they will be on--a tricky way of getting you to come to class. Class is very helpful so I would suggest going. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He provides notes online and they are very clear and helpful. He explains things to where you will definitely understand them. Go to class because one, you'll be lost with the online homework if you don't, and two, he gives quizzes. Try doing the homework without your notes if you can, it helps you with test problems. Online homework is really easy. It's a good grade booster. The final is cumulative, but not too hard if you study your old tests. Plus it's all multiple choice so that helps. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I LOVED this prof!! He moved slowly enough that everyone could understand, but quick enough to cover the material for the exam. He was also very nice and answered anyones questions the best that he could. Don't let the grade distribution on here worry you. If you put effort into this class and make sure you understand that every homework assignment and every quiz are important you your grade, you'll do fine. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
honestly i heard that college math courses would be impossible..well this guy makes it possible, very easy to understand, very smart, he's a young dude that wants to help you learn this stuff, 3 tests, each arent bad at all, if you study his exam reviews then your really helpin yourself for the tests, attendence isnt mandatory but if you do miss then math becomes hard because he makes its really simple, get the book..he doesnt use it, at all, but it saves you paper, the book isnt hard to understand, week in reviews are very helpful, online homework has unlimited tries, there is usually a quiz sometime during the week..definitly get this guy if you can no doubt |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He's really nice and makes sure everyone knows what is going on. He had notes that you fill in during class, and all the examples make the homework really easy. He has no problem giving help/hints on homework or anything else you need help on. Tests can be sort of difficult, but he puts a review online that is a LOT like test questions, so if you understand that, you're golden. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
GREAT prof!!! He's really young, he graduated a few years ago so he really understands where all the students are coming from and what they need. He explains everything really well, attendance is required because he has in-class quizzes, but if you go to class and pay attention and do the homework they're really easy! He online notes that you print out before class and take and fill out there, he's really organized! Gets tests back really fast. Three tests and a cumulative final, and all the tests are really fair, he gives plenty of time to get them done and he doesn't throw anything really tricky in. Pretty much going to class and doing homework will get you a B, and taking time to go to the week-in-review will probably get you an A. I couldn't go to the week-in-review because I had a time conflict, but I took a little extra time out of my schedule to study a little extra and I'll probably get an A. I'd recommend this prof to ANYBODY, he was great! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He is very nice and approachable. I was not intimidated by him in any way and he was very much into assisting all students when they sought help. He is almost too nice. Went over his office hours schedule multiple times to help me. If you have to take 141 and know that it will be a sturgle try to have Ben. I never resented going to class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He is an AMAZING teacher. He needs to be teaching calculus. He makes the material extremely easy to understand, and he does practice problems so that you know what you're doing. He is very fair, his tests and quizzes are completely reasonable in reference to the class material. Plus he's a great guy. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ben is a very nice guy. He really cares if his students learn the material. He assigned an online homework each week as well as a quiz. He was very good about returning emails and answering questions in class. SO ASK QUESTIONS!!! I made an A in the class because I did the suggested homework and went to every class. The people who missed classed seemed to struggle on his tests. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ben was amazing! I dropped out of another teacher and picked up his class and I am SOOO glad that I did. He makes notes for his class, so if you can print those out and take notes on that during class then you're pretty much set. He makes Math 141 simple and the quizzes aren't too hard and neither are his tests, he makes his own. He defnitely is a great math professor, he loves what he teaches and he's funny. He makes class interesting and he's just a great guy. He's really easy to talk to and he's always available during his office hours! If you're really bad at math then definitely take Ben! He'll make life a whole lot simpler! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mr. Aurispa was probably the best math teacher I had/ will have. He was very organized and clear. He simplified hard concepts and made sure students understood the materials. He was very quick on emails if you needed any help. He wanted the students to do well unlike those who weed students out! Online homework really helped on the test and is a grade booster. very good prof/guy. HIGH RECOMMEND HIM!!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He explains the material so well. We do a lot of practice and examples in class together which really helps with understanding everything. He is extremely thorough. For only a few semesters of experience teaching under his belt, I'd say that he is doing an amazing job. Be prepared for a few random quizzes here and there. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Very clearly explains everything and is happy to help anyone that is struggling, there are quizzes once a week and homework once a week, but they dont take very long and are more grade boosters than anything else. If you go to class and the reviews you shouldn't have much trouble making a good grade. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
The tests were easier than the quizzes he gave. He dropped 2 of the lowest quiz grades and 1 online homework grade. The online homework was a good grade booster because it had unlimited tries. His quizzes were fairly easy if you studied the noted before the class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Aurispa is a very good prof. He really explains everything well. Make sure you go to every class and don't be afraid to ask questions. He also curves at the end of the semester! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
AURISPA IS A GREAT TEACHER!!! IF YOU GO TO CLASS AND HAVE SOME COMMON SENSE ABOUT MATH AND FOLLOW ALONG THEN THIS CLASS IS GOOD. I DO HAVE TO SAY THAT I TOOK MATH 142 FIRST AND TOOK MATH 141 WITH AURISPA. HAVING THE BACKGROUND OF MATH 142 REALLY HELPED IN EXAM 1 WITH AURISPA. BOTTOM LINE ....BEST MATH 141 TEACHER! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Great prof. He was very approachable and always willing to help a student in need. I suck at math and he really helped me out a lot. I TOTALLY recomment this teacher if your a slow learner when it comes to mathematics. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He is a very good teacher. When he did lecture, he explained everything very clearly and it was easy to understand. There are 3 tests and a final. The tests are pretty easy if you understood how to do the problems, and he always reviewed the day before the tests. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Take Ben's class! He's a fantastic professor a really great guy. He's young, funny, and really cares about what he's teaching. If you have a question, he's always there to help and his website gives you multiple different sources of help. I had him for a MWF class, and he gave us Fridays off to offset the amount of work we had outside of class. He always gave partial credit on exams and always emailed back if you had a question. It's a tough class for a lot of people, but Ben does the best he can to make sure you'll succeed. Great, great professor! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He's a great guy who really wants you to understand the material for your own good. The class is set up where you're put into groups and then for the whole year you work with them for daily handouts. There is a lot of homework outside of class, but it's all online and never proved to be too strenuous. Overall, there's a lot of work that is put into this class, but none of it is too hard and has reasonable due dates. The exams were always stressful to me, but he gives you a full review online with all the same questions that will appear on the test. I'd highly recommend getting in this math class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
This class was pretty easy if you are decent at math. There were 3 tests and a cumulative final exam, as well as weekly quizzes, homework assignments, and in class group activities. This isn't a lecture class, so you are actually teaching yourself and the others in your group on the activities, but Mr. Aurispa was always available if no one in the group could figure out the activity. The activities were easy grades that help bring up your grade. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Good teacher, actually makes math somewhat interesting. Gives help whenever its needed. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ms. Reeder is a great professor. I don't have enough space to write about how awesome she truly is. She explains things clearly and several times if needed. She understands that the subject material is not the easiest but offers plenty of opportunities to excel. It's not an easy class, but if you put in the effort she will be more than willing to help you out. She's an angel when it comes to office hours and answering emails, you will NEVER get the impression that she's impatient or frustrated with you if you have the same questions or need extra help; believe it or not profs have lives too but she often started her office hours early if she had students waiting. Her exams are tough, she really wants her students to understand the concepts and not just memorize particular problems. Her notes are all online so you just need to print them out and bring them to class to fill out the examples. The examples on the notes are very similiar to a few on quizzes and exams. She doesn't take roll but I wouldn't recommend not going, your grade will reflect the effort you put in. Put in little effort expect a mediocre grade. Lots of in class quizzes, online quizzes and homeworks that really help your grade. The online assignments are not very long but some can be tricky, definitely work the suggested homework problems to do well on the online assignments. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Explains very clearly. Very helpful outside of class. Offers A LOT of outside problems to help. Offers stream videos of her working out the suggested math problems, which helps a lot. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is an unbelievable professor!!! By far the best prof at A&M. She is young, sweet, approachable, very willing to answer all your questions, and explains formulas in way that you (personally) can understand. If you have the chance take her!!!!! She gives plenty of opportunities to help your overall grade if you fail the tests. It's hard to fail her class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ms. Reeder is a pretty good teacher. She is fairly young and knows that you have more classes than just math. She is available for help in her office hours and is always willing to answer any questions. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
great lecture, knows how to teach you math you havent ever seen |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ms. Reeder is a nice person and as long as you do the suggested homework and go to class, you should be fine. A lot of people think that this class is really hard, but if you put in the effort, it's really not. She gives three tests and a final. About a third of your grade is made up of quizzes and homework that you have online and pop quizzes in class. You have five chances to take each thing online to try to get a 100, and you can ask her about ones that you don't know how to do. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She explains things really well, almost too much. She's very thorough and class is not hard to keep up with or understand. She's nice, young and cute, so she's pretty much on your side. I would definitely recommend her for 141. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Overall she is a good teacher and I would take her class again. Online quizzes and homework are the only outside of class work graded and there are multiple attempts to get the correct answer. Doing the suggested homework helps. She is easy to approach with questions and usually avaiable and knows what she is doing. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She explains information well and takes questions in class. Computer assignments and in class quizzes make up a third of your grade and she drops the lowest one of each. Do the suggested homework and you will do good on all the quizzes and go to class because missing a couple of quizzes can really hurt your grade. Her tests aren't too difficult if you study. Study for the first test because you need it help your grade. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mrs. Reeder is awesome!!! I took a lot of math courses in high school and she made everything so much more clear!! She is a really good teacher. I think that the bad reviews she has are based on her early years of teaching because nothing said in the other reviews sounded like what I experienced. Each class is lecture and she takes time on each area. She allows plenty of time for questions and is always willing to help students. The outline of the notes is online and then she fills in the blanks during class. If you can get the notes from a partner, it's really easy to interpret and not go to class. BUT she gives 10 pop quiz's throughout the semester. They are really easy and the lowest is dropped. She will usually hint the class before that a quiz is coming up. The grades consist of 3 non cumulative tests and a cumulative final. There is also a lot of online quiz's and homework but you get 5 chances to try and it's really easy to get 100's on. She is very helpful during office hours and is always willing to stay late to help students. The tests are about 8 m/c and 6 workout problems which she is very lenient on. If you have to take this course, take Prof. Reeder!!!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is willing to help her students and very easy to talk to. I would highly recommend taking her for Math 141. I heard so many bad things about 141, and was kind of nervous about taking the course. But if you go into the class with an open mind and good attitude and are willing to do all the suggested hw and study it all, you will definately be okay. I have a B right now..and I went to a+ tutoring the whole semester it really made it a ton easier. There are 3 exams plus cumulative final, 11 in class quizzes (she drops lowest one), and online quizzes you do everyweek! Take Reeder!!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ms. Reeder is a great teacher! She just graduated recently and is already a professor here. Her tests are challenging, but she is more then willing to help you in any way you need it. She is very good at explaining the material, and she will go over it as much as is necessary. She gives 3 tests and a final, but you have to be ready for the tests, because they have the potential to bring your grade way down! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
GREAT TEACHER!!! Explains how to do things wonderful! Her notes are sooo helpful! Truly cares about her students and how well they do in the class and understand the material! Def go to her office hours...they are the best help you can get!!! If you struggle in math...take HER!!! I am horrible in math, but with her teaching i made a B!!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Sometimes confuses herself on lectures. Very good for how young she is. She is the nicest prof ever. She is open to any questions. Attendance is a must. There are pop quizzes and you never know when they are. Homework is much harder than the lecture. Exams are half work out half multiple choice and are tough. Make sure you know everything on her old test and suggested homework. The final is easy. It is just the easiest problems from each section. If you work semi hard you can get an A. I worked but not my hardest and made a B almost an A |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Notes are all online as well as old exams and answer keys. She dropped the lowester quiz grades and homework grade. Do the online quizzes as soon as they are assigned and if you still dont understand do the suggested homework. The quiz questions were all straight from the book so as long as you do the work the class is simple. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Professor Reeder is extremely organized, she types up her notes so all you have to do is print them out and follow along during class. She's really nice and is willing to help her students, if you'll ask. She drops your lowest in class quiz grade, online homework grade and online quiz grade at the end of the semester. You usually have one online homework assignment and one online quiz assignment a week, the homework from the book is only suggested. I would do it because it helps you understand it better and she will answer questions over it if you come to her office hours. Everyone once in awhile if there was extra time at the end of class she worked out problems from the suggested homework, online homework or online quizzes that anyone had a question over. I would definitely take her class again! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is AWESOME. She covers the material VERY well. You have to go to class. The first 2 tests are easy but be sure and STUDY for the 3rd! I highly recommend her. She is very energetic and loves math. She is very easy to get a hold of outside of class. Take her class!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is the best teacher for 141. She does a very good job of going slow and making sure that everyone understands the lesson. She gives out suggested homework to do and if you do that then you will do well on the exams. Come to class, her lectures are fun and if you go to class you wont have to really do any outside studying (besides the homework) and you will make an A in the class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She explains everything very well and is very clear with what she is saying. She tries to answer all questions and is careful to go slowly enough so that everyone understands. Her tests can be hard, but she grades fairly. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Great prof! Take her if you can. She really takes her time in teaching and makes sure everyone understands. You have 3 tests and a final. Tests aren't too bad. Weekly computer HW and quizes. If you get the chance take Reeder. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Zarestky is a great prof! She puts all of her notes online and explains the material well so that everyone can understand. She is very knowledgeable about Math 141 and can answer any questions students have. She grades fairly and will correct any grading mistakes and help out her students in any way she can. She also runs the week-in-review sessions and writes the reviews herself, so that can come in handy when studying. All of the tests had built in curves of about 4 or 5 points, which helped alot. The final was cumulative, required, and all multiple choice. It wasn't too bad though, because I ended up making an A even though I didn't work nearly as hard as I should have. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Homework is online which after getting used to, I found was WONDERFUL! There are always 15 questions, and you get five tries to make the highest grade you can. The next day after homework was due, we always had a quiz with a simpler problem based on what we had learned in the class. We had four exams total, three through the semester then a cumulative final. She was a good professor, I thought. She'd post the notes online, so you could print them out, bring them to class and follow along as she worked out problems. She'd allow questions, and try to help us understand the material if anyone got caught up on something. She's wonderful about learning names! If you ever went to her after class or emailed her or met with her, she'd make sure to memorize your name, which was comforting in such a big class! I'd go to week-in-reviews each week, too which helped. She actually taught these, too for this semester, and people around me ALWAYS would comment on how they wished she were their prof. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
she's good if you aren't good at math, she explains things slowly and is more than willing to help you is you go to her office hours...i am terrible at math but i'll make a b, of course i went to a+ also.. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is probably the best math 141 teacher you can get...in my opinion. She is a great teacher and makes sure you know math very well. The quizes and online homework are very easy and really help boost your grade. She gives some bonus opportunities which are nice too! The best asset is she teaches the week-in-review which I STRONGLY suggest if you want to pass and do well in this class. Her test greatly resemble the week-in-review and I can honestly say I wouldn't have gotten an A or probably a B had I not gone to those. Over all a great teacher who is willing to help. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She was really a good teacher, she tried to go slowly and answered questions in class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is a nice lady and has very clear notes and goes through each process step by step and will stop for questions. She remembers your name if you go to office hours or ask questions after class. So far, she has given a very easy extra credit opportunity. Her tests are not too difficult. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Everything is well-organized and defined and she makes sure everything has been covered. Personally, she is very nice and always willing to help; she addresses everyone's questions and even knows some students' names. The tests could be difficult, but the best way to prepare is to do the required and suggested homework. The quizzes every week are not hard, and really help you make sure you really know what has been covered. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She was VERY good at teaching the material. Lots of people had told me to not take a math class at A&M, but she was awesome at explaining everything. She also taught the Week in Reviews, which are held for all the other classes. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Zarestky is an excellent prof. She is very nice and friendly. She is willing to help, you just have to ask! Go to office hours when you can/need to. Her tests consist of 12 or so multiple choice questions and 8-12 free response questions. They're not very difficult if you know what you're doing. They're very similar to the Week-in-Reviews, so find out when and where those are and GO! Or print them off the website and do them as practice for the test. The book problems are helpful too. Her lectures are very straightforward and she gives you the powerpoints to print (PRINT THEM! It makes note taking easier). She gives a LOT of examples! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She was a very great teacher. I am not the greatest at math but she made it to where it was understandable. She gives a quiz every thursday and she has a week in review every tuesday that goes over everything you learned in the past week. I went to her office like every wed and she was so nice and helpful and she remembers who you are which is cool. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is a very good teacher and explains everything really well. |

MATH 141 Business Math I

awesome prof! videos can get boring but she is a really nice person. in class we were in groups and had an activity to do every day and when you finished you could leave so I rarely ever stayed for the entire class. she always has a review the class before the exam and tells you somewhat to expect on the exam. if you do the homework, watch the videos and look at your quizzes it it pretty easy to make an A in the class.n |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Excellent prof and nice lady. She reminded me of a high school teacher because if someone would ask a question she wouldn't mind doing the problem again and making sure everyone understood before moving on. She teaches so clearly, and her notes really helped. You can use the calculator for most problems so you don't have to remember a bunch of pesky formulas. She gives some extra credit if the class doesn't do so well on tests, and there is optional homework for every section we learn. Go to class so you can hear her explain different methods of working out the problems. She explains it better than the book does. Also, go to the Week In Reviews - they are very helpful and actually boosted my grade. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Her method of having printed-out skeleton notes that the class filled in was amazingly helpful in note-taking and learning the material. She was also very helpful outside of class when asking questions one-on-one and was very fair in how she graded the class, and would even smudge grades a little if you were consistant in attending and participating in class. She also gave partial credit on the workout section of the exams, which was a life-saver at times. Likewise, her in-class pop quizzes (often open-note or even group quizzes) were a grade boost. I received an A in the course. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is one of the best math teachers I have ever had at any level. She explains material clearly and in a precise manner. She does not act as if she is way smarter than you, and is not afraid to make a fool of herself to get her point across about the material. She is passionate about her math and an Aggie herself, so she is very approachable. She has fair office hours, and offers help sessions and week-in-reviews. She holds extra office hours before tests. In this class we had online homework, which you got 5 chances to get a 100, in-class quizzes once a week, about half of which were take home, and four tests that were challenging but hit on the important concepts. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is one of the first math teachers I have ever had who knows what she is talking about. She is very good in math and it shows in her teaching. Anytime you have trouble she is willing to help during office hours and she always up on the board when the next help sessions outside of class are. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ramsey is a really great prof. her lectures are very organized- you print them at home and fill them in as she goes over it in class. The homework load isn't bad, I think all 141 classes give pretty much the same amount of homework. And her exam grades were always better than the other classes, so I don't know if she gives easier tests, or the class is just better prepared for them. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mrs. Ramsey is a great teacher. She has her own schedule but she goes slow enough for you to get the material. She does Ilrn, so alot of assignments are online. During her officer hours, you can get one on one attention and she tries to get to know you. In class, if you ask questions or let her know you don't understand, she will stop and go back until questions are answered. You just have to ask. She has all suggested homework and quizzes once a week. If a test didn't go as well as she expected it to, she'll give a make-up quiz to get extra points. If you don't plan on coming to class, you'll be left in the dust because she doesn't give breaks very often. She doesn't give walks by math department rules and even if she's sick, she'll be there and keep you for the 50 minutes. She gets angry when people leave class early and always threatens quizzes. If something happens to where there's not enough time to complete the quiz in class, she'll give it to you as a take home quiz. She's very practical and tries to relate things to everyday life. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Great lecturer for math! She really does a very thorough job of explaining the material, and she is very nice and relates to college students well. She's young, a recent grad school graduate, and will help anyone. Her notes are the best. She emails everyone in her class when she posts notes on her website, you print them off, and bring the outlines to class. As she explains the math, you simply fill in the outlines and take additional notes as you personally need. It's great because you can take the time to focus in lecture and not scribble down notes feverishly the whole time. Well worth taking this lecturer if you have to take MATH 141. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Her quizzes were really easy and she explains the material really well. She also cares if we know the material or not. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
All of Ramsey's notes are put online and you print them off and fill them in during class. She does lots of examples and is always willing to help you. ALWAYS GO TO CLASS ON FRIDAY. She doesn't take attendance, but more often than not, we would have a pop quiz on Fridays. She gives three tests and a comprehensive final. Do the suggested problems. Her quizzes online and in-class are often taken from problems similar to the ones in the book. You won't do well in the class unless you do the suggested problems. Trust me. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mrs. Ramsey was by far the best math teacher I have ever had. I absolutely loved her and if you are taking Math 141, GET HER you will not regret it! She explains everything very well and gives you links to print out her notes before you come to class. She gives a quiz once a week and it is always easy. Her tests are very fair and she gave extra credit for 2 of out the 3 tests we took (not including the final). Attendance isn't mandatory, but it helped me out a lot. She is very willing to help and wants you to do well. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is a WONDERFUL teacher!! She explains everything and is always willing to go the extra mile for her students. There are 3 tests part multiple choice and part work out and the final is accumulative and all multiple choice. There is online homework every week, 15 questions, (all math 141 sections have these). There is also suggested homework that really helps from the text book. There is almost always a quiz on Fridays either in class or take home if there is not enough time. All in all Mrs. Ramsey is just like a high school tescher who is very helpful and explains everything very well!!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is a great teacher. She teaches the course material very well and she is usually in an a good mood. I know that there were a lot of people who had other teachers for 141 that didn't understand a single thing. Mrs. Ramsey assigned work that would actually help in understanding the material. Go to class for potential pop quizzes. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ramsey is SOOOO good at explaining the material and the tests are very fair. Her week in reviews are definately worth going to and make sure you do all the homeworks. Test every week, but they ending up helping you learn the material so its ok. I watched the streamline videos online and those really helped me.She is also very helpful in her office hours and before/ after class.Overall great prof! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is all in all a wonderful professor. She REALLY tries to help. On numerous occasions she stayed way past office hours to help me. She will definately help you, if you want to be helped. She also really knows the material, and seems to enjoy teaching it. I made a C, but I really felt like I accomplished something when I was done. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
First of all, I do not give Greg a 5 because I think he is EASY. Greg is a tough prof, but he is by far the best math teacher I have ever had. He keeps the lecture going at a pretty good pace, if you aren't slow you can keep up. He gives quizzes, BUT as long as you have been paying attention they are pretty easy most people I knew get an A or B on them. I sat in on other profs with friends, and Greg was the best. HERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART! His tests are very tricky. Remember, this for the first test. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Greg is my favorite prof so far. He is great! I even think he is smarter than the book itself. The class demands a lot of concentration but he makes it kind of fun. If you ever start to struggle he will help you tremendously in his office hours. He gives three exams, a final, a quize about once a week, and homework every two weeks. His homework and quizzes are only three questions at the most. He is great, take him if you are lucky enough!!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Greg is an awesome instructor. He makes math fun and interesting, and if you ever have any questions, you can stop him and tell him to do the problem again. He makes himself available whenever possible, and takes time for his students when they come to office hours. I would definately take another math course from him. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I really liked this math class. He give you homework each time, and he give you 2-3 specific problems that you turn into him once a week. (you know exactly what to turn in each time so you have a chance to really work them out). He usually gives a quiz on the day the homework is due. His tests are pretty hard. But if you get the basics down anyone can figure them out. He is fun in class, and will make you laugh. He is awesome in the fact that he loves the calculator. He teaches the shortest method possible for each problem, usually a calculator method. Willing to work with you at office hours. I had a really hard exam scheduled the same day as one of his and he let me take it during office hours to make it up so I could study for the other exam. I definately think he is a good prof to take. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Greg Klein is a great teacher. I am not very good in math at all, but he taught me the information so well that I feel like I can do math now anytime. He teaches at very fast pace though, that is the only problem with Greg Klein. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
If you are not really a math person, this class probably won't be easy for you, but if you have to take it, get Klein. He is an excellent professor. he teaches well and is nice if you have questions or don't understand something. I recommend him. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Greg is an awesome teacher. He makes learning hard things fun and easy. I recommend him to anyone who is going to take a class that he offers. Math at A&M is difficult and Greg is the best one to help you learn and understand. He is more than willing to help you do your homework or understand problems. I am getting a B in his class and I would probably get a C if i had any other teacher. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Klein spends time answering homework questions every class. Sometimes he does for a long time, sometimes it is not for that long. Class is not required to attend. He does give take home quizzes that you have to bring to class though to turn in. I would turn them in then leave. This was good because I did not have to stay if I did not want to. The homework is online and you have multiple attempts at each question. Problems on the test resemble the homework. He posts notes online after each class. The tests are multiple choice. The final exam takes problems that have been on the other tests with just the numbers changed. The final counts as 20% of your final grade. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Attendance is not mandatory! He starts every class period by asking if anyone has questions about the homework and usually spend 20-25 minutes just answering questions. He likes to be dry/sarcastic which makes for funny moments in the class at times. He seems to genuinely care about whether or not you understand the material, especially if you pursue help outside of class. There were 3 exams, each 20 questions and entirely multiple choice. The best way to study for those is to go back over the web assign homework and practice alternate versions of the problems since most of them are word-problem related. This class really isn't that hard if you stay up on the homework and read the ebook if you don't understand how to do the homework just from the lecture. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
His lectures are always to the point, no nonsense. He answers questions at the beginning of classes over the homework on WebAssign and will answer questions at the end of class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
he prof. clearly explains everything open to answering any questions |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Very straightforward, teaches the material well. If you're "forced" to take this class, don't worry at all. He teaches effectively in class and puts his notes online. Tests are 20 questions, multiple choice and are easy enough if you do all of the homework. He can also be funny at times, but a bit err...quirky...at other times. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Though some may say that Dr. Klein is difficult to understand and hard to pay attention to, he is a very nice professor that's willing to help during his office hours and explains mistakes in a very simple way. There are only three exams, so one must do well on all of them, lest they want anything else besides an A. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She works lots of examples (but they aren't even close to exam difficulty). |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Everyone makes her sound horrible and she's not at all. She gives you notes online on her website that has all of her information and in class you just go over the notes. There are 3 tests and a final, and this semester the tests were online and the final was in class and multiple choice. I thought the tests were fairly easy and the final was realllly easy. ALso, there is a silent curve at the end of classs. There are online homework assignments and pop quizzes. The online homework is boring but easy and you can do it up to 5 times so it's really easy to get a 100, and she'll work out any of the problems for you in class. She drops your 3 lowest grades too. She really seemed like she wanted everyone to learn and I would definitely recommend her. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is a very helpful teacher when it comes to explaining things. She uses everyday examples that makes it easier to understand. If you don't understand something she is more than happy to try and explain it another way. If you go to her office hours she will help you with any online homework problems and sometimes will even do the whole thing, depending on how many people are there. I strongly recommend her! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I went to her office hours every week and she was alwasy willing to help...very nice but can seem a bit crazy at times. This class is pretty tough so you have to study for it...I recommend 4.0 and Go and all the week-in reviews...Dr. Scarborough tries really hard to help her students but still...the class is just really tough...it was mostly the online exams my class had...they were horrible. Although she did tell us we would be getting a silent curve so hopefully that will help. Show her that you are trying and she will definately help you out. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
This course was really really hard, but Ms. Scarborough was probably the most helpful you could ask for. She has a million and one helpful tools. She presented the information clearly and welcomed questions. She is nice, a bit intimidating but if you are trying she wants to see you succeed. She was extremely helpful. The class had 4 tests and a final. The material on the tests is what is taught, only a bit more challenging at times. She was a good teacher. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is such a sweet lady and wants her students to do well. Try to go to every lecture because she gives unannounced pop quizzes and she drops your three lowest hw/quiz grades. It really helps if you do attend lecture because she does explain the material and does a lot of examples so even if your aren't the brightest math student you can still do well. Also go through all the problems in the notes she gives you for the test because she puts similar ones like those on her tests. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She's a pretty good teacher. Although her quizzes are usually unannounced and can be difficult, she does prepare you for the tests and is there for help if needed. One thing that I personally liked was that she used examples usually that were not in the book, which could be very helpful. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She explained the material very well and step-by-step. If anybody ever had a question in class she didn't hesitate to re-explain it with more detail. The material is difficult but she can make it very simple. If you go to class, it is not hard at all to make a B. There is a lot of outside-class help that she offers as well, which is INCREDIBLY beneficial if you get stuck. She's easy to talk to and smiles a lot. Sometimes during quizzes, she gets a call from 'The Great Pumpkin' who tells her that the class can work together :) all in all, I thought she was a very effective teacher and would take another class from her any day! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Great prof! She is a wonderful person and very sweet. She really enjoys teaching and cares about whether the student's learn or not. The one piece of advice I can give is to DO THE PROBLEMS HER WAY!!! Do not go to 4.0 and Go or A+ Tutoring thinking they will help you on the test. She grades according to her personal rubric which she clearly defines in class. Definitely go to class. Random unpredictable quiz dates although she does seem to favor Mondays and Fridays when students are less likely to show up to encourage higher attendance rates. She is very approachable. Always answers questions to the best of her ability and without judgement. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Scarborough is an awesome math prof. You will have to work in her class, and she gives about 10 quizzes that are all tough if you dont keep up with the material. However, she really wants to make sure you understand the material. If you have a question she will try her best to make sure you comprehend the concept. If you did not take at least pre-cal in high school, I wouldn't take her, because she moves at a quicker pace than you are most likely used to. But as long as you keep up with the work this should be a great class. I'm making a C because I never do any of the homework, and i never study for her class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
For people who think math is their strongest subject, this class with this prof is super fun and pretty easy. Math has always been one of my strongest subjects and so my lowest test grade was a 93. I think she's an awesome professor. She cares almost too much if her students learn her materials. She provides you with all of her exams from previous semesters so that you can see exactly how she words her tests. She puts her previous exams online, along with reviews for every test, reviews for every lesson and book problems- the best part about it is that she also posts videos of her working out every problem for every single thing that she puts online. The amount of resources is huge. If you aren't a math person, there's no reason at all that you couldn't at least get a B. She has 3 tests, online homeworks, and 1 cumulative final. On every test and final you have an opportunity to get 5 bonus points, just by filling out your scantron correctly. Absolutely take this professor, she's got to be one of the best math 141 teachers at A&M. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Dr. Sherry was very helpful, but the test problems were a lot harder than the homework problems were. She does however offer a ton of help if you need it. Go to class, work as many problems as possible and work yourself against the clock. I failed the first 2 tests because I ran out of time. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Very fun class. Doesn't move to fast and explains very well, plus she puts her notes on the interest so you only have to fill them in. She goes over the notes on the overhead so you can copy as you go along. Homework usually once a week that is easy and ranges from 5 to 15 problems. I went to SI for help and made hundreds on all of them. We had quizzes every thursday over stuff we just went over, just 4 or 5 question, relatively easy. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is the sweetest person ever and the best professor! all my friends had trouble with 141 because of their teachers but she does a great job teaching and makes it as easy as possible. She wants her class to do well. She puts her notes on the net and you fill them in in class but if you miss class she puts them on her door. I definitely recommend her and would take her again if I could. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I really enjoyed this class. Cox is alot more involved and caring of her students than the other 141 teachers. There are many resources to help you if your having trouble. You print off fill in the blank notes before every class and if you miss class she leaves a complete set of notes in her box. You have homework every week that you can get an easy 6 points for completing it and another 4 points for getting two random question correct. Homework is a good way to keep up with the class and make sure you understand the material before the exam. There is also extended homework problems listed on her website that help for the quizes. She gives occasional bonus for attending class that really helps you grade. Her website also contains exam reviews and week by week reviews that help explain the material if your behind or missed class. Exams can be tricky but if you study you will be fine. Encourage taking her if you want to do well in this class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mrs. Cox is a good teacher. All class notes are on the internet, along with practice problems and other available exercises. Lectures are not at all boring, and she takes the time to explain everything. If students have questions she is more than happy to explain the topic differently or work individually with students. In addition to being a good teacher, she is also fair. Having numerous problems with iLrn, she sent out emails notifying students of the issue, sometimes pushing back the due date and other times giving extra takes. Having a teacher that is fair in this respect is a major plus. She also cares about each student and suprisingly knows many of the students names, even though she has probably 300 students. The tests are not too difficult. Everything is covered in the fill-in-the-blank notes or during class. As long as you go to class every day and pay attention you will have all the information you need. The textbook is only needed to get homework problems out of (avg 5-8 a week), and the math on the web book is only needed for the registration code (which you can buy online for $12, instead of the book for around $40). Quizzes once a week, an online module once a week, one hw assignment a week all worth 10pts each, 3 tests worth 100pts and a comprehensive final worth 200pts. She also gives extra credit periodically, some to go on a test and others to replace low module grades. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mrs. Cox is very nice lady. The class is very structured. You learn one or two sections per class (her notes outlines are available online). There is usually one quiz a week and one homework assignment a week (only six problems). The tests are a combination of mult. choice, free response, and true/false. The tests are difficult, and I found it necessary to do the suggested homework to do well. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mrs. Cox is one of the nicest professors you will meet here at A&M. She will help you in any way she can and will spend as much time as needed with you to help you understand the material. She has three tests and a cumulative final. She gives bits and pieces of bonus assignments here and there, but be sure to do them no matter how small the value. They might change you a letter grade in the end. I got a 96 on the first test, a 73 on the second, and a 83 on the third, and a 90 on the final. I still pulled out an A. The quizzes and homework help your grade a lot. Her lectures are extremely well-organized and she puts the outlines on the internet so you can print them out ahead of time. If you put forth the effort and go to her with any questions you will do well in this class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is a very good professor who really knows what she is talking about. Her quizzes and mods are fairly easy and she gives really good notes for you to study. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Awesome teacher! She is really sweet and tries to learn everyone's name. She had notes online you have to print out and take to class while she fills in the blanks on them. There were examples on the notes which were helpful. There were some quizzes in class but they were very easy and you can look over your notes right before hand. Tests were multiple choice, several work out problems and several true/false. If you don't understand something, she will gladly explain it again during class. The homework is short, very easy and helps you to learn the material for the tests. She gives tons of suggested problems that really help to practice for the test. Very clear and straightforward! Take her! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Compared to what I heard about other teachers in this course, mrs. cox seemed wonderful. i learned a lot in class and she taught the information well. i was very satisfied with my grade |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is a very nice women. She actually cares about very single one of her students. She gives excellent notes from an overhead. She give bonus, and she has many opportunities for students to improve their grades. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mrs. Cox is absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend her. She is fair and gives detailed, follow-along, fill in the blank notes for every lecture. She moves slowly to ensure everyone is on the same page, but not too slow to where you're constantly bored. Going to class is recommended because she shows you shortcuts and hints on how to solve some problems. Tests and quizzes aren't too bad, but they do require studying especially for the true/false portion that is based on theory. Cox is wonderful at answering questions and grading VERY quickly. Homework is important to do because problems like the homework will be on the tests. She is very generous and drops the lowest quiz grade and allows your final grade to replace your lowest test grade which was such a blessing for me! Not many teachers are that generous. Highly recommend taking Cox she won't waste your time and you can count on her to be caring and get you the grade you need as long as you do homework and stay updated on the notes. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
The best prof I have had here at A&M. Print off the notes from the internet, go to class and fill them in, use them to do the online homework and study from and it will be an easy A. She has in-class quizzes about every other week with ten questions, three exams and a final. She will do alot to help your grade, for example, dropping lowest quiz grade and dropping a few lowest homework grades and also replacing your lowest test grade with your final exam grade if you do better on it than the test. She is willing to help with any questions in her office hours or before/after class and definitely made class enjoyable with some family stories. I would love to have her again. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She explained concepts well and always knew what she was talking about. The online homework and in class quizzes were pretty easy if you pay attention in class. Although in the end they only make up 25% of your grade. If you do the online homework and go to the week in reviews the tests aren't too hard. The questions are straightforward so she isn't trying to trick you. Attendance to class is pretty helpful but not required. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Her tests are pretty straightforward. I didn't think there were too many tricky questions. She responds to e-mail faster than any of my other professors, and her replies are helpful. It helps a lot to go the week-in-review or spend a few minutes after class to ask her for help if you don't understand something. Don't take the online hw lightly they could mean the difference between one full letter grade even if they're only 25%. At first she may seem intimidating because she has a sort of blunt humor, but she is actually really approachable. I've always been one of those students who asks lots of questions, but I never felt like she belittled me in any of her responses. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I dont know why everyone is giving in one or two stars. She really is not that bad. She tells you what you need to know and thats it. I went to A PLUS and it helped alot. I got a high B without much effort. her tests are straight forward and simple. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She was an excellent instructor. A lot of people were not very crazy about her, of course what can you expect with a hard course. She was very straight forward with the information and what to expect on the tests. Also she was very helpful in her office hours or when I approached her before or after class. The quizzes and homework were a nice grade booster. Also the tests were not too difficult if you put in the needed time and preparation. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
This is a pretty hard course, considering I did not have a very strong math background in high school, but I really liked the class. She provides you with a lot helpful revies that you have to do on your own. Most are not really for a grade, but they are recommended and helpful. You do have to do WebAssign assignments for a grade, but you have several tries to do them if you don't get the grade you want. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I dont know what thesekids are talking about....maybe they just really suck at math... cause i loved the class. Mrs. Lackey really cares and she gives you heads up on quizes and they are so easy. if you pay attention and goto class you should get an A. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
her practice tests are exactly like her final! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
The notes were very helpful. The example problems were written in the notes and they were step-by-step so it was easy to follow along in class. The tests weren't too difficult. The week in reviews really helped. The online homework was helpful in boosting grades. She gave a list of suggested problems which i recommend working if you are struggling. She was a very nice lady, and tried to interact with the class. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She speaks clearly and to the point.Go to class, do the homework, and you will do good. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
While the subject as a whole is not all that interesting, Prof Lackey tries to teach in a way that helps everyone understand. She is good about going over all her material and the workload for the class is limited to online homework. Her tests are relatively fair and accurate of what we learned and none were overly difficult. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Lackey was very straightforward when it came to what was going to be on the tests. She gives homework that is mandatory and you can do it online, but for me that was a pro because I was able to learn all the material and study just through doing the homework. Different people are going to have different experiences with this prof, if you are relatively good at math this will be a straightforward and relatively easy A, if you aren't I would recommend another prof. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I love this prof! I took math 141 in the fall and got a D but I took her class in the spring I made an A. When I took this prof she was awesome. You could print the notes off the web and fill in the work as she went, which made it really simple to keep up. Her tests were really easy as well, if you study. There is quite a bit of online hw but she gives you plenty of time to do it. Also the practice problems really help too. Some people may say she is hard but I think she is a great prof. Take her for MATH 141! |

Jenn is such a nice lady and a great teacher! She does a fantastic job of covering the material and if you pay attention the class really isn't hard at all. She takes up homework randomly, so you have to do the homework every night which kinda sucks but it helps for the tests. She also lets you do extra credit problems every now and then at the end of class as a way of rewarding you for coming to class. She's really down to earth and fun and she understands her students. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Whitfield is one of the best lecturors at A&M. She cares about her students very much and will go out of her way not only to help her students, but other students as well. She is easy to understand, and she is very down to earth. Luckily she doesn't mind if you dont go to class, she figures its your grade. Amazing teacher. There isn't anything that i could say that hasn't been said already, she is organzied and makes herself readily available to anyone. I recommend taking this class and any class with Whitfield. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Overall she is a good teacher, there were only a few lessons that were unclear. She is very helpful if you go to office hours so if you have any questions at all I would recommend going to office hours. And get to know her, she is really nice! She's very fair on ilrn. I would definately recommend her for math 141. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
she is a very nice prof. She will usually give you hints at when you will be turning in homework and she will always tell you when you will have a quiz. she also gave us opportunities for extra credit which was nice. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
For a math class, this was good! She had notes on the web, and 3 tests. She doesn't take up homework! You need to go to class to understand, but she teaches very well! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She explains things thoroughly and explains every detail of the work. She is very fair when it comes to grading. Often times when you show her something you don't think is fair, she will meet you half way and give you a higher grade. She breaks the tests into two days so you don't run out of time (which is awesome). One day is the calculator section, while the other is non-calc. On the non-calc section, you can receive partial credit. She uses Cengage for homework, and always gives enough time to do the assignment (usually a week) and if a few students ask her to push back the due date, she usually does. She is always willing to help and provide information about Week In Reviews and other resources. I definitely recommend her! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is an amazing prof and helps you in every way possible. Jenn will go out of her way to help you. Plus her test are extremely fair! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mrs. Whitfield was a great teacher. She was extremely funny, and did an excellent job in her teaching style. She is extremely laid back about her classes, and she sometimes gives us more time to complete our work. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
First of all you refer to her as Jenn. She is very laid back and definitely has a sense of humor. She is willing to help during her office hours and she is very approachable. Her lectures is very clear and go by very quickly. You do have to complete your online homework, which can get difficult, but it is a great way to pull up your grade. Her quizzes and tests are fair provided you study well. On some quizzes you get GREAT surprises. She offers great extra-credit work. Attendance is required, but it doesn't go unrewarded (i.e. extra points at the end of the semester). I highly recommend Jenn Whitfield she is one of, if not the best, math professors at A&M. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Jen is a great teacher that wants you to learn and do good. My first semester I took 151 with a bad prof and actually got up early to go to her lecture also. This semester I am taking 141 with her and I am really enjoying the class. She gives tons of extra credit (I have over 100) and wants to help you out. Her quizzes are fairly easy and so are her tests. You have 4 tests and at least 10 quizes. She does not assign homework to turn in...I did not buy a book and I have not missed it yet. She does not try to fail everyone..she wants everyone to do well and learn the material. I would choose Jen for any math class if she is a prof. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is always willing to help when you don't understand. All her notes on online, and she uses them to teach the class. If you go to class and spend alittle time out of class on the subject you should have no problem doing good in this class. I would take another class from her. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Ms. Allen is a great math teacher. She cares about her students and wants everyone to do well on her tests. She tries to make her tests the easiest the department will let her. Her best policy is that there are 3 exams and 1 final. If your final is better than your lowest exam she will replace that grade, there counting the final twice. Also, the second test is the hardest, however, because our class average was low she gave a 10 bonus point assignment. I would also reccomend going to the week in reviews. Mine were with Dr. Poage (who is also another awesome math prof). They were a great review and helpful because they were repetitive. Overall, Allen is a great teacher! Take her or Dr. Poage!!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Mrs. Allen is a really nice person. I'm just not a good math student and I hate math in general. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She is really good about helping out with any questions. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Overall she was great!! Math141 sucks, but she made it possible. She is more that willing to help all students and makes an effort to get to know you. She also seems to really care about each individuals grade and does everything she can to curve tests and give extra credit. There are 12 quizes throughout the semester (about one every week). These are very important!!!! I can't not stress this is enough, the top 10 of these equals a test grade, so if you do the homework that could be an easy A test grade, most of her quiz questions come straight from the homework. TAKE ALLEN, shes great!!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She really does care about her students, unlike many other Math profs. She is more than willing to help you out. Go visit her and make a relationship, she is really cool. The class is challenging, but it isn't too hard. Many other profs will count off for ticky-tack things, but she wont. If you get a chance to take her, DO IT. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Allen was probably my favorite prof last semester. She is willing to help, doesn't make you feel stupid for asking a question, and she seems to care about her students, rather than just math. Go to office hours, if she knows your name, things are better. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is really nice and is concerned that her students understand what she is teaching. She works out alot of problems like what is on the homework ( which you dont have to do ) during class. Tests consist on multiple choise and work out problems. Really easy class. |

Heather is a great prof: She provides lecture notes to fill out for each class, they kept me awake and focused and they emphasize what's noteworthy. I think she does an excellent job of explaining formulas and problems step by step, like a student talking to a student not a math genius who talks above everyone else's level. Shes a good lecturer. My advice is *keep up* with the recommended homework problems. It's like a couple a night and if it's fresh on your mind from the lecture, it's really easy to do. Doing the homework before the required online modules make the modules a breeze. I tried a couple times with out having done the homework and wasted so much time -time I might as well have spent doing the homework. Her expectations are fair and she's a sweet person to talk to, very accomodating. If you keep up with practice problems, ask her questions in her office hours if youre lost on a problem or two, it's an easy A. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Very good prof. It is extremely important to her that you understand the material. She post an outline to the notes for each class that cover more than you will need to know for the tests. The book in this class is not necessary unless math is one of your weaknesses. I never used mine. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She teaches very well and can connect with her students. If you have any problems go and talk to her...she will help you! I really reccomend this prof! |

MATH 141 Business Math I

MATH 141 Business Math I
Heather is one of the nicest professors I've had. She is always prepared for class and is willing to help you with any questions or problems you have with the material. All you have to do is make the effort to email her or go to her office hours. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
GOOD, could be a little bit better but not much better. I don't who gave here the bad review about how she grades hard and does not like shortcut methods or calculators... because she is the exact opposite. She tries to make things as pain free as possible, and always encourages the use of calcs and shortcuts, but also wants you to show your work when applicable, so that she can give you partial credit... but will not count it wrong if you have the right answer and do not show your work. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
There are weekly quizzes, which I averaged a B on, but if you do the optional homework at the same time you're learning it in class, you should do fine on them. She knew my name, which is impressive in a class with 100+ people, and is always willing to help. If you can't make office hours, e-mail her, she'll usually respond within a few hours. Her first test caught me off guard (70), and then I started attending help sessions and made a 88 on the second one. If it weren't for the math help sessions and week in review sessions I probably wouldn't have passed (math isn't my strong subject). REQUEST FOGLE!!! If her class is full, take Bollinger (she did the week in reviews). |

Great teacher, very helpful. He gives random quizes, and going to class isn't bad because he actually tries to teach the material so you can understand it. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
He is a really good professor. He cares about whether or not students learn. Mr. Lawler is always willing to help any student that doesn't understand something and will work with you. He is always available during office hours. Week-In-Reviews are posted weekly, and old WIRs are posted with solutions. He was never really strict about anything, except texting in class. Don't hesitate to ask him for help. Every now and then we had group work. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
This is a really nice prof. I brought my test to him after every test with questions and I usually always received some points back. If he knows who you are, he will do everything he can to help you get the grade you are aiming for. I needed a 98 on the final to get an A in the class and I made a 92 and he curved me up. So definitely go to his office hours. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Very nice lady, for being a college professor and trying to teach objectives over a very confusing subject, I think she was pretty good at it. Although if you forget to print the notes one day before coming to class you are pretty much screwed that day. Go to the Week in reviews, those help all the way. 4.0 and go helped too, but the week in reviews were awesome, I went to a Math 166, because they are basically the same class and that was the only time of the week I could go. If you had any questions at all they would stay later and answer them. Take advantage of all the help you can get. Also take advantage of the videos she posts on her websites. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Professor Epstein is the only person who has been able to teach me math and make me understand the concepts! She is an amazing woman. I took the class honors and I was really scared that it would go too fast for me, but she is constantly available for tutoring and offers tons of study resources. The online homework was perfect for me. If you attempt it early and don't understand some problems, you can print it out and go in to her office and she will help you find the way to solve them. I also enjoyed the fill-in-the-blank notes. It let me concentrate on what she was teaching instead of having to rush to copy down everything she was saying. She also offers extra credit at the end of the semester. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Dr. Epstein really wants you to learn in her class. She has weekly review sessions to go over material and get you ready for upcoming tests. While I wouldn't say this class is easy, it's manageable. Look out for hidden bonus points on the tests! She explains things very well and is always willing to help you learn. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is very nice and very helpful and gives you a lot of resources for help and extra practice. Answers questions in class and does a lot of example problems. Curves. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Dr. Epstein is such a great professor and this course was probably the most useful course I have taken at A&M thus far. This was an honors course so there were only about 12 students and she answered any questions we had very thoroughly. Lectures were easy to follow along with (you have to attend them or it is hard to catch up) and the exams were very fair. There was a weekly quiz that forces you to study on weeks you don't have an exam (and when you do have an exam, you have already studied a bit) and homeworks online that you have to keep up with. She gave partial credit on exams which was VERY helpful. This is a hard class but it is fair and you are learning math skills that are important. The lab that went along with this honors section was also helpful (but easier to get an A in), you learn lots about Excel. I took this class right before taking the GRE and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Take this class if you have the opportunity to!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Dr. Epstein is a good professor. She is very understandable in class and also answers any questions. She posts all homework and all notes online. Attendance is voluntary, although there is usually a quiz once a week and pop quizes every now and then. She communicate very often through email and offers several outside of class helps. There is a cumulative final, and all exams are multiple choice and work-out. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Hands down the best professors I have ever had. Truly cares about her students, if you take the time to go in for office hours (which she does by appointment as well as having set office hours) she will make sure you understand everything before you leave. Gives great reviews the class before tests. Had the entire class over for a delicious home cooked meal. I enjoyed her so much I took MATH 142 with her as well. If you do what she expects of you (which is very reasonable) you will get an A and learn more than you ever have before |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Dr. Simpson is by far my favorite professor by far!! I love her. She is an amazing professor in and out of the classroom! Her learning style is different, but she is willing to work with you to ensure that you learn the material. She hates to see a student who cares about their success fail. Make yourself known, she will work with you, but you have to work yourself. Looking back I could have gotten an A in the class, but I slacked off and rarely studied and got a B. Take Dr. Simpson if you can!! I hate math but I would take a class from her anyday!! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Take this class if possible. The Honors class is pretty easy and Dr. Simpson is so nice. She explains everything well, and it is very easy to make an A if you have had any math at all. |

nHe is a really helpful and understanding prof. He explains things VERY thoroughly in class and provides great notes, plus you can print off the power point slides prior too class. He is always very willing to help explain things during his office hours. There is online homework, but ultimately it's good practice. You have quizzes once a week which are very straight forward, often the practice problems he posted on the web. The tests are challenging, but not tricky. If you understand the material it is very similar to that. He is also very funny, there are some slight language barriers, (such as not knowing what a Skittle was during a probability problem) but you can understand 100% of what he says. I would definitely take him again. Also, once our class average was low for a test, he didn't curve but we had an additional quiz in which we could earn points. Nice person!nn |

Ada is great! she is really laid back and down to earth. she has a bit of an accent but she is not hard to understand. Tests were very representative of the material. There are always office hours to go to for help and she provides a lot of ways for you to get free easy help. I didn't buy the textbook and it would have been a waste of money if I had you don't really need it. Ada was one of my favorite professors I had this fall. she is really entertaining and funny and very easy to worl with if you have a conflict with tests or quizes. i have never had a problem staying awake in her class. TAKE HER YOU WONT BE SORRY! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
Compared to other Math 141 profs, Boralevi is awesome! Math 141 isn't the easiest subject so obviously you will have to put effort into the class, but she is a very helpful and understanding prof. Unlike other math profs, if you don't understand something she will take the time to explain it, and if you still don't get it, her office hours definitely help a lot too. She's actually kind of funny too. I HIGHLY suggest going to every class. She gives GREAT, organized notes with examples that are basically parallel to the online homework and even quiz and exam questions. Out of all the Math 141 professors, Boralevi is definitely one of the best ones. I'm not the most math savvy person, but I ended up with an A. So it is possible! |

MATH 141 Business Math I
The class consists of about ten quizzes, (he gives one every Thursday in the last ten minutes of class) three tests, and one final. Quizzes are easy unless they are take-home quizzes in which case he feels compelled to make them unreasonably difficult. If you get a take home quiz go to a tutoring service and ask for help. A tutoring service-not some friends who are good at math (I tried that and got a fifty)- when he gave us the first one not a single person in our class of about two hundred people received full credit. He dropped about three of our lowest quiz grades but no one knew he was going to do that until he told us about a week before the final. The final is all multiple choice and very fair. It is cumulative and there is quite a bit of material covered so he doesn't have to make it unnecessarily hard. He is a very intelligent man and a good teacher. When he looks at a problem he considers the steps needed to come to a solution for only a few moments and then explains it all in logical order. Sometimes he does this a little too fast but if you don't freak out you can keep up. He is good about answering your questions in class; you just have to have the courage to speak up if you are confused about something. If you are good at math you can probably get an A on all the exams just by doing the online homework and studying the quizzes you took prior to the upcoming test (this is what I did but I ended up with a 90.1 so I would suggest putting in a little more effort to be safe). If you are not good at math you must be extremely conscientious about doing extra problems and going to extra tutoring if you want to get an A. His office hours are usually uncrowded and he is extremely helpful when he is teaching only to you. He recognizes and appreciates your effort if it is really there and he will find ways to reward you for it. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She puts a lot of resources on her website that help a lot when doing homework and studying for exams. She's really nice and willing to help outside of class. She teaches mainly by example rather than drilling theory and formulas, which I found helpful. Also, for several concepts she'll just teach you how to do it with the calculator, which made some things way easier. Her quizzes are pretty easy, and tests are predictable since they're mainly from the book homework. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
She is a good teacher and gives help if necessary. She starts off VERY easy at the beginning, but gets harder, so you can't blow it off. Generally easy, weekly homework and weekly quiz. She doesn't take attendance, but plan on being there on Wednesday to turn in homework (or give it to a friend to turn in) and Friday for quiz. There is also an online quiz due every Sunday night, but they are easy if you know the material. She answers email very quickly if you write to her, and keeps her website updated so you know what's going on if you miss class. |

He had a passion for the material he taught which kept my interest. He always let you know when a quiz was going to be and they were never overly complicated. The final was multiple choice on a scantron. Sit near the front of the class, he will recognize you easier which will make him more comfortable around you if you ever ask him questions. If you show interest in the subject it will only benefit you. |

Prof. Axelson was a good math teacher who knows what she teaches and trys her best to make the material understandable. She has the same teaching style as a high school teacher, which she used to be, but this can be good if math doesn't come easily to you. She really wants her students to learn and do well. There are four tests, some multiple choice and some workout. |

MATH 141 Business Math I
I loved Mrs. Allen! She was unbelievably sweet and helpful, and fantastic at explaining really difficult concepts in such a way that I could understand. I'm really not a math person, (I GET math if it's explained well, but I definitely prefer to have nothing to do with it if I can! I'm more of a writer.) but I was able to understand what she was teaching, and wound up doing very well in the course. rnrnI took this class during the second summer session, so it was incredibly fast-paced, but she was completely understanding of how hard it was, so she was as flexible as she could possibly be while still being fair. I think there were 9 quizzes total, with 3 tests and a cumulative 33-question, multiple choice final. She gave us a review sheet the Friday before the final (the final was on Tuesday, and we had no class Monday) and told us what we needed to emphasize and what we could leave out. It definitely helped, but make no mistake, unless you've been studying and grasping the concepts all the way along, you won't do well on the final. She did her best to make it straightforward, so it really all depends on you. rnrnThe rest of the tests are part work-out (which you can receive partial credit on), part MC, and a few T/F questions thrown in, with roughly 17-20 questions. Some of the questions were pretty straightforward, but some of them really relied on you understanding the material enough to figure out how you should work the problem.rnrnYou usually have a take-home quiz due the day you take a test (with the exception of the final), and these are usually a little harder than the ones in class, but she lets you ask her questions about the take-home quizzes, and you can help each other out. She drops the lowest quiz grade, and if your final grade is higher than your lowest test grade, she replaces that lowest test grade with your final grade. (So, basically, the grade on your final can count twice.) rnrnThe homework is extremely helpful but not graded, and the best part is that if you just don't understand how to work a problem, there's streaming video solutions you can watch an instructor go over every single problem in the assigned homework so you can understand how it's done. The only drawback to this is that not every instructor in the math department teaches the same concept the same way, so sometimes the way the person in the video worked a problem was different than how we were taught in class. But that doesn't happen often enough to where it's a huge problem.rnrnShe's usually very prompt at responding to emails, is extremely patient with millions of questions, (like I had. Haha.) makes an effort to learn everybody's names, and rewards students who she can tell are trying their hardest to do well.rnrn If you're like me and had no other option but to take MATH 141 at Texas A&M, I would highly recommend taking Mrs. Allen! :) |

He give takehome quizzes that were easy and brought your grade up. Online homework sucked but all math 141 classes have to do so if you go to the reviews they do each problem and its not too bad. Go to office hours if you get lost. He likes to see that your trying. You don't need to come to class if you follow the book. |
