MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Mr. Cash is awesome! He lectures for the first 1/2 hour of class and then those who are comfortable with the material are free to go and he will remain to work with those (like me) who struggle with math. He makes it very easy to understand. He assigns homework each night to help you along but does not take it up. He has 3 exams - each one with problems that you must show your work on. He also requires one small group project. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
He is an awesome proffesor. I mean he really rocks! Mr Cash has a fun, down to earth style that brings Math to life. His lectures are short but tells us everything that we need to know, also since students may have questions he even stays longer after class until he or she has their question answered. Proffesor Cash needs to be commended for best teacher of the year. |

WONDERFUL professor!! Easy going, laid back, funny! Loves to teach and loves to help students. |

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Greatest Math Professor on the planet. I am not a math person and especially not an algegra person put Professor Cash made this course a joy for even the most reluctant math person. I truly felt that I had learned and finally understood algegra after this class and I received a B which was truly amazing for me. |

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Great teacher. He teaches what you need to know in a clear and understandable method. Tells you like it is. During the semester I had him he ended up being about more than he was in but he continued to provide the study guide, tests and projects for the class and graded them aslo. Good teacher if your not the best Math student. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Excellent teacher! His lectures are short and to the point, he doesn't waste time with unnecessary information. He genuinely wants everyone in his class to do well. His tests are not hard, because he hands out a study sheet and will stay after every class if needed, even to help one person. The homework is not mandatory, and he doesn't give out an excessive amount. I have hated math my entire life but actually had fun in Cash's class, I even looked forward to going. Cash is perfect for someone that is struggling with math, but I would recommend him to anyone! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Great lecture. Good feedback. Extra credit available. Managable homework load. Fair tests. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
He's an awesome professor. Not only does he have a great personality, you actually are able to learn math. The test and 2 projects are your only grades... but they are easy. He is very understanding and is willing to help you out. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
You can't get a better math professor than Professor Cash. No matter HOW math illiterate you are, Prof Cash will teach you the material in a way that you will pass the class with an easy A. He's straight to the point, shows you easy ways to learn the material, gives homework [optional] if you need the help, but doesn't require it. He has NO attendance policy, and has a great sense of humor- he makes it clear in the beginning that he doesn't care if you come to class or not, but if you come to class, know that he WILL teach [he enjoys being there- not a professor who is grumpy]. He's personable, approachable with ANY questions, and is always available for extra help. Material in class lasts about 15-20 minutes- two projects are assigned during the semester, which can be done in groups AND completely solely in ONE class. If you understand the material after 20 minutes, you can leave- if not, stay and get extra help to understand. He explains the material wonderfully, and I can't imagine ANYONE helping me understand it better- definitely the BEST professor for Math 1101. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
I thought Mr. Cash did a wonderful job of teaching and actually applying the math. He made the class interesting and it was a class I looked forward to rather than hated going too.I would highly recommend him and his teaching style to anyone.I wish he taught all the other math classes I need. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Prof. Cash is an awesome teacher! He teaches the lesson and then if you understand it he lets you leave and if you don't then you can stay and ask questions. I am terible at Math and I have an A in the class right now. There are 4 tests, no homework, and 1 group project that you can do on your own if you want to. Great Teacher!!! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
AWESOME teacher...sometimes he'll cancel class on a whim due to his other job working with computers. Really funny man and incredibly fair about grading. He grades your tests on what you DID and not by what you GOT...in other words, he grades you by the work you show. This was truly the best math class I've ever taken |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Very easy-going, and quickly takes the mystique out of Algebra. Never does anything to make the student feel inferior or inadequate. Has a tremendous ability to cut through the mystery surrounding the task, showing ways to consistently and accurately solve the problems. If you don't understand, he will spend whatever time it takes until you do. He saves the 'extra help' time until after instruction, so those that are comfortable may leave as soon as they choose. The student actually LEARNS how to do the work, and understands the why and how of the subject. Not enough time or room for the kudos this man deserves for the benefit he is to his students! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
The class is more enjoyable because Professor Cash makes it come alive. He will outline the new chapter in about 15 minutes, then you can go. The students that stay are the ones you don't understand during his speedy-Gonzalez first half of the class. He is available via email, for any additional help you need. He will email you your test scores is you can't wait over the weekend. There are 4 tests plus a final. Get to know your calculator (your new best friend) and you'll pass every test. He's an outstanding Professor, with a great sense of humor. You have to have if your someone who loves Math. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
What can I say about Mr. Cash. That he is the best teacher. Let me just put it this way. I took this class twice and dropped it because I hate it. With Mr Cash I came to every class, got a B and did not take the final.Whoever said that was distracted by a kid brought into class, is just a grumpy old person that has frustation. No kid distracted me from class. Take Mr. Cash, he is the best!!!!!!!!!!!! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Outstanding teacher in every sense of the word. This man loves to teach and is in the classroom for that reason, not the money. He is a non-traditional student's dream because he makes math fun, interesting, and easy. He is very willing to help out and will answer all of your questions without making you feel dumb. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
He is the best teacher I've ever had in college.I am terrible at math and he made me understand it. His class was fun and interesting. The last Math class I took I failed, but I received an A in his class. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Professor Cash is the best math teacher I have ever had!! I have a learning disability and really struggle with math. He makes math fun and easy. He really cares about his students even though he does not require attendence and says you can even order a pizza in his class. This was my first college class in sixteen years but I was amazed to make an A. He gives you all the tools to succeed. There was three or four tests including the final. Plenty of homework and extra credit opportunities to help you understand the material. He also told stories, jokes and riddles at the start of class to help relax math phobics like me. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Great class. Learned a lot of math easily and quickly. No graded homework. Very willing to explain steps and formulas. Nice guy.He explains everything on the most basic level to help you understand. Classes are rarely more than 40 minutes. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Mr. Cash is INCREDIBLE!!! I LOVE THIS CLASS!!! I'm NOT a math person- but Mr. Cash was patient. He lectures for about 20 minutes, then lets you leave or spends the rest of the time helping you- even if you missed a class! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Mr. Cash is excellent!! He has a casual attitude regarding class, however, he explains and teaches the material so that you can understand it. His relaxed manner made for a relaxed class. You still have to know the work. He gives you credit on your test for showing your work. You have two projects, but they are problems that are to be worked. This is the class to take, he is the one!!!! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
I can honestly say this is the very very best instructor I have ever had. As a non-traditional student, I was terrified to take math. I KNOW i needed to take the class before this one for no credit, but lack the time. Mr. Cash made this class so much easier than I ever imagined it could be. I learned so very much! It was one of the best highs I've ever had when he announced the students with A's (I was on the list), did not have to take the final! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
She is a master of the subject. She really knows her material and will take time to answer any question you have. If you have never been a math person, she is definately the professor to take. She goes over everything mulitple times step-wise and makes math easier than ever! I have never been a math person a person who normally makes C's in math courses, and i have over a 100 avg in her class!! She is very sweet and will always make time if you need extra help! She gives lots of handouts to help with her lecture with lots of helpful examples. She assigns homework almost everyday, but never checks it, but will go over the problems if needed. If needed she'll even replace your lowest test grade with your grade made on the final! She's awesome! take her! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
I think she is a good teacher. She taught high school for many years and that shows through her teaching. For those who have been out of high school for a while, her pace, and style works makes it easy to catch on. She has worksheets, and additional notes for the chapters. She does take attendance every day. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Mrs. Bookhardt was a great teacher! If math is not your strong point, or if you've been out of school for awhile, this is the teacher for you! Everything was clearly explained, and she is a very step oriented person. Once you learn something one way one time, it doesn't change. There is homework about every night, but it's not a lot, and the tests and quizzes are not too difficult - she basically gives you a copy of the exam beforehand as a study guide! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
This class was soooooooo easy. She does a great job at explaining the material--one of the better math teacher's I've had. She gives out handouts that are great for study guides. She stops to make sure everyone is following her and leaves lots of free time to ask her questions. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
I belive that Mrs.B would be good teacher for anyone that has not been to school in years and have a hard time in math. She gives 4 quizes and three test, but she let's you know everything that will be on the test and she gives extra points on all test and quizes. She also gives a full review for final and it also as extra points on it(final). Also, she gives stickers if you get more that an 80 on test and quizes (funny). Overall, she is a fair and she does not mind answer questions. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
She does a very good job of explaining mathematical concepts. She goes very slow and makes sure you understand everything. She also offers alot of help to make you pass her class. She always uses an overhead with her calculator to make everything clear to all of her students. I made an A and barely did anything. I recommend her to everyone! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Mrs. Bookhardt is VERY clear as to what she expects! Sometimes it is frustrating if you forget to write down one step.. and she deducts points. Overall, she is a very nice lady! She looks over all your projects before you turn them in and tells you what you need to fix. She assigns homework but does not collect it. She does have an attendance policy. There is extra credit on every test and quiz! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
She is a great professor! She is very step-oriented and repetitive, which is helpful when learning something new. She likes things to be done on the tests and quizzes the way she teaches them but she tells you as she teaches you, This will be on your test/quiz...don't forget that I want you to answer like this. She tells you how to do it so there is no reason for anyone to not make an A in her class. She does grade on attendance, but gives you 2 free miss-days, she gives extra points on tests so it is more likely to make an A. She is very smart and knows what she is doing. Any questions and you can email her and she'll get back to you ASAP. I highly reccomend taking her. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
She was great. She always let you know in advance what was going on and helped you any way that she could. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
If you took Trig in high school then this class is easier! She was very organized and very picky- but you always knew what to do! She was very helpful ansd I got an A -and I am not a math person! Great prof- |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
She is always willing to help, and funny. Her class isnt hard, she doenst require you to do homework but i would recomend doing it for the practice |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling

||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
From the first day of class, be on time, pay attention and I highly recommend you tape her classes..just be kind enough to ask her first, she doesn't mind! You'll be grateful you did as she moves quickly and many times I understood a formula/function or problem after listening to the recording of her class. Of course, her Southern accent seems to be magnified on the tape but it provides humor during HW sessions! Do your HW, study your Test Review as your test will be just like it except for different problems but otherwise the same and save all returned tests for final review. She is strict on attendance and paying attention, no talking during class or being silly. She is helpful and funny, just be the mature college student you are expected to be because she is not going to babysit you! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
she may be a crazy woman, but i love her teaching styles, she's very enthusiastic and can keep the student entertained...i would take wanda and her colorful jumpsuits again in a heart beat |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Before each test, you get a review sheet. Study that review! Her test is exactly like the review with the numbers changed. You can't fail. You work in groups, which is an advantage. She will help you if you let her know. She will meet with you and answer all your questions. She likes the older non-traditional students and does treat them respectfully, but the younger students watch out! She expects you to be on time and not miss a class. I liked her a lot! She made me laugh. You always knew what to expect from her. No beating around the bush. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
She is very structured and you know exactly what you will be doing the entire semester on the first day of class. She teaches the subject thoroughly and there is no way that you could not understand the information if you attend class and take notes. She tells you exactly what she wants on tests, homework, etc. I could not have asked for a better teacher for this class. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Davis is an awesome teacher. She is the first professor I have had that actually cares about her students and their grades. It is more like a high school class, which works if math isn't your best subject. She assigns hw everynight, and everyday she takes a problem from your hw from the last night and that is your quiz each day. It's very easy. She gives you a study guide before every test and reviews it problem by problem. If you do the study guide you will definitly get an A or B everytime. You have a small math project that is rediculously easy. It's worth 50 points and is basically a small hw problem. I ended up with an A in her class and I would take her again!!! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Ms. Davis is a wonderful teacher! She gives a study sheet before test and the test go exactly like the study sheets. Get in good with her and don't get on her nerves by missing class unexcused or ask stupid questions. She gives homework but doesn't check it. Occasional quizzes but she tells you when they are.Take her...it's an EASY A! She is a wonderful teacher. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Thorough reviews. Wants students to succeed. Available before classes or on-line and prompt and getting back with you. Very computer and calculator savvy. Very knowledgable of the subject. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
She is a great teacher! She is real good to answer any questions and is always available through e-mail or her own personal phone number. She sometimes treats you like high schoolers, which I found very helpful because she wasn't too strict like some professors. Her test are amazingly easy, if you study the review( ex: 3 test in her class and I made 100 on all 3). |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Ms. Davis is one of the best teachers i've ever had ... she really makes the information understandable. her test reviews have exactly the type of problems on the test. if you take the time to study, you should do well in her class. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Ms. Davis was the best math teacher I have ever had. She teaches the material very well and she is very willing to help you. She explains everything thoroughly and goes over it enough for you to really get it. The review sheets for the test are exactly what is on the test, but with different numbers;Study the study sheet. I recieved an A in the class. I would definitley recommend her to everyone. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Professor Davis is sweet and she cares about her students. She gives specific examples of all course material, so as long as you pay attention in class, it's not hard to get an A. I hate math, but this class was pretty easy. A lot of group activities. You don't have to do much by hand at all (except a lot of writing). Mostly everything is done on a calculator. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
SHe is a very good professor. All you have to do is show up almost everyday, pay attention, and do your homework and you will make an A. |

Gordon Shumard

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Mr. Shumard's teaching can be difficult to grasp at times. But he does give individual help if you ask him. There are 3 tests, one final, one group project, and a homework note book grade. All of his exams, including the final is open book and multiple choice. He drops your lowest grade and replaces it with the final. The final is about 50 questions that were EXACTLY the same questions from the 3 exams. The group project sucks, but all of 1101 classes have to do one group project. Ask Shumard for help or go to the math lab and you should do fine. He takes attendence randomly three times in his class. Each time you are there you get 5 points for a total of 15 points added on to your final points in his class. Math 1101 is not easy, but if you have to take it,take Shumard. Its impossible for you not to get an A or at least a B. Plus, he is a nice professor. He makes corny jokes, but he's pretty down to earth. I wish he taught statistics. I would take him again. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
He gave two multiple-choice tests and one written test. You are allowed to use your book on the tests. Keep your tests as a study guide for the final. Gives extra credit for attending all classes. He assigns a moderate amount of homework. I'm very, very bad with math and have always received C's, but his class was so easy I received an A! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
I think Mr. Shumard is the best teacher ever. I am not bad at Math, but I don't like it very much. Even so, I enjoyed going to class 'cause Mr. Shumard really seems to like teaching, in his funny math teacher sort of way. He makes corny jokes all the time, and it's a blast if you have a good attitude. I got an A in the class. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
This guys is great!!! He is funny and everyone has fun in class. He relates math to relationships. He is patient and will spend time helping you if you ask. He will always end the class 15-20 mins early but you will definitely learn. Grading scale: Total 600pts. 4 test=400 pts. 1 final= 100pts. and hw which is done online = 100pts. if the final grade is higher than one of the test grade, he will replace the lower test with the higher one. Attendance is not required but will give 10 bonus pts if you are in class after thanksgiving or after spring break (when most people skip). If you just pay attention in class and do your hw you are bound to get an A. All test are 25 questions, multiple choice and you get to keep the test. Final is 40 questions, multiple choice and it will come from the 4 tests except he will change the numbers. Great guy, very helpful. Would recommend him to anyone. He also teaches elementary applied calculus. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Easiest class I every took! I went to class 3 times besides test day and made an A! If you are good at math...don't bother going to class! If you aren't good at math... he really does an excellent job of explaining everything. My classes test averages were normally around 87-93. 3 tests, he drops the lowest one. One group project, and a homework notebook are due at the end. Oh yea, and all tests are multiple choice and open notes! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
He's very easy going. He has a professional sales background that comes across in his lectures. Answers every question directly and makes sure you understand. Professor Shumard allows a full 8.5 x 10 note page on every test Except the final. However, the final is made up entirely of questions cut and pasted from the previous tests. Best math professor I've ever taken. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Excellent teacher, this man really tries to reach every student in the room and help them understand. I wish the students tried as hard.nClass discussion was GOLD, where the book was next to impossible to decipher.nClear power-points available online, although not on Web Vista.nDon't try to skip the regular assignments and cram before a test - there's no way to get it without the practice.nAlso, use the Math Lab in the Library!n |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
He is a very funny teacher! He knows the material backwards and forwards. Always willing to help out a student when they are having trouble. A lot of his problems deals with history and the current population so be prepared to answer history questions on the test. He is extremely thorough with his work. Homework is mandatory but it takes no more than 10 minutes to do. His class is really easy but don't be fooled by everyone's comments saying that it's an easy A. There's a lot of work in his class in order to receive that grade. I recommend anyone who has a chance to take him. |

He was AWESOME! I had him at 8am on a friday morning - tough time but he didnt make it as bad. He will explain EVERYTHING without making you feel like an dummy. He has a quiz almost every class, but he goes over any q you have at the beginning of class. He has some very corny jokes but they are funny. We did groupwork homework from the book - he walked you through the homework and you do almost all of it in class. Very fair guy! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Overall he is a great professor. Homework was not required, but definitely helped to do some of it in order to comprehend the material. It was pretty much an easy A as long as you go to class and do minimal studying. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Professor Womack is great! He teaches! His class is easy. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
I was kind of worried about taking this class, being out of school for almost 5 years. Mr Womack made this a very enjoyable expierence for me. He explains everything very thoughly. He won't move on until everyone knew what they were doing. All the info you need for the class (including homework problems) are on his website. DONT'T BUY THE BOOK, I opened it once (prior to the first class) and did not touch it after that, and I got an A. Attendance is must, there is either a homework assignment or a quiz just about every class. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
if you do not like math or just not good at it, he is a very good teacher. he taught very slow (too slow sometimes) and answered all questions. lectures always ended early. although he assigned homework every class, he never took it up for a grade. there was only 4 tests and they were all fairly easy. the exam was just like a regular test. it wasn't over everything we learned, just the one chapter. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Mr. Womack is a great teacher! He goes over everything very well. I had him for a Friday class and he would go over whatever we needed before tests and quizes. Our final was take-home and was only over the last few chapters we did. |

He is freakin' awesome!!! I highly suggest that if you can take his class then you should!! He is awesome and not bad to look at either! But is extremely corny, but it is in a funny way. He doesn't give test, he just gives quizzes which were open book. The questions on the quiz were ironically enough, the same ones in the notes with like one number off. Even though the class was easy, I still learned so much from his class. He does not take attendance, but if you miss one class, then you miss a lot of information that will be on the test, he doesn't teach things that aren't going to be on the test. He doesn't give homework, but if you want to work on some problems he gives you some from the book to practice if you ask. He is very welcoming to help you outside of class. He is meet you in the student center or at Starbucks off campus or where ever you want to help you out if you need it. I easily made an A in his class. Take his class if you can!!!! |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
James is a ton of fun! This class stinks and if it weren't for him teaching; you would want to hang yourself with your underpants! He makes the material interesting, as much as he can. He's a goof ball, by nature, but that adds to the fun of the class. I'm not great at Math and I came out with a B; and that's not putting in a lot of time, outside of class to study. He's very willing to meet with you outside of school, if you need help. He does a good section on using excel, but if you don't already know how to use it, you maybe lost. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Very helpful and flexible. Willing to work with students outside of class. If you are a returning student, or have traditionally had difficulty in math, this is the guy for you. As an engineer, he likes to apply the math you are doing to real-world problems- he's very good at that! It's not such an abstract course, and that's a welcome change for those of us that have difficulty thinking spacially. |
||

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
He is the best at what he does. He takes every opportunity to met with the students and he will explain step by step every single detail about math. He has a very good sense of humor and if he was teaching any other math class beside math modeling, I would sign up immediately. |

She goes into detail about everything. She assigns homework on WebAssign, so no book homework is required. I purchased the book for the class, but wasted my money doing so. I easily could have gotten an A without the book. She works out every type of problem that will be on the test. She has MiniQuizzes almost every class, so it is important to go. Also, she has a review day the class before the test. If you do not understand the math, she offers help outside of class as well. She was a great professor! |

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
She is a wonderfull professor. Very patient, easy to understand, very helpful, the class has mini-quizzes before the big test that helps a loooottt. If you do the homework on-line and don't miss classes you will get an A easily. I was out of school for a few years and didn't have any trouble following her class. I got 100 (sometimes over - with extra points) in almost all tests. She is GREAT!!! |

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
I had good time in her class. We had 3 tests and a final exam in her class. The final exam was cumulative and wasn't very hard because she told us everything that was on it. She goes slow and is not very hard if you go and pay attention. I didn't do any homework in her class the whole semester and still made an A. I would recommend her to anyone. |

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Mrs. Turner is a wonderful teacher. She explains everything in detail so that it is easy to learn. The tests are easy because she gives study guides that are almost like the tests. If your grade on the final is higher than one of your tests, it can replace it. There is a lot of group work, but it is a good way to boost your grade. There is one project, but it's easy. I highly recommend her for Math 1101. |

Mr. H is pretty cool and has an interesting sense of humor. He doesn't speed through the material and doesn't mind when people ask questions. A plus is that he doesn't take attendance [he didn't for my class, at least], so if you are doing really well and understand the lessons, you honestly do not have to go to class to succeed. We had a homework assignment for each lesson, but all the lessons for a chapter were due on one day, which was a plus. |

She goes over everything in detail and makes sure that she has not lost anyone along the way. She provides practice quizzes and tests prior to every test and quiz. And she provides an answer key to her practice activities. The practice quizzes and tests are very beneficial because they are exactly like the actual quiz or test. She is very easy going and explains things very clearly. I would definitely recommend her. She always graded our tests and quizzes and gave them back the next class. She also provided a progress report in the middle of the semester so we knew what areas we needed to improve. |

I took Dr. Banker during the summer and LOVED the class. She teaches at a pace that everyone can follow. I learned so much in this class! I read some of the negative reviews for Dr. Banker and I just have to say that it was just not the case in our class. She treated students with respect and demanded it for herself. Who doesn't? The class wasn't a breeze, it was hard work. I made an A. If you show up for every class and pay attention and ask questions, there is no reason not to make a good grade in this class. |

MATH 1101 Intro Mathematical Modeling
Dr. Kris is a great math teacher. He really, really knows his stuff. I am a non-traditional student who hasn't done a lick of math in 22 years. I went into this class with mortal terror. At first I wasn't too impressed with him, but as he began to get a feel for the level of knowledge the class had, he adjusted his teaching methods and took a lot of time to work problems on the board, step by step, to be sure that everyone understood before moving on to the next section. His test are not really all that easy, but they are open book - which is probably good, considering the complexity of them. He gave a lot of extra credit and substituded your lowest test grade with the next one up. If you work hard, do the homework and study you should make a great grade in his class. He also tries not to put up with foolishness, for example, in our class we had a group of hooligans that sat in the back and spent every class period talking and disrupting the class - and even though they were causing a lot of the students frustration, Dr. Kris was more than kind to them - trying to get them to understand that thier behavior was disruptive, when he should have kicked them out of class. His english, by the way, is fine, he has an accent that you have to get used to but he speaks perfect english. Also, he gives a lot of points when you show your work, even if you somehow arrive at the wrong answer....the big thing with him is effort. Don't try and phone it in. |

Very nice lady. Does extra credit. One of our tests most of the people failed (mostly due to lack of studying) and she said she would replace it with final grade. Lets you argue your side if you think you didn't get credit on a test for something you deserve. Lets you ask questions during test. Slows down if you ask. |

She is wonderful. She explains everything in a way that is easily understood, and makes it fun. She does give a few pop quizzes, but they are fairly easy if you have paid any attention in class, and are really just a way to boost your grade. It really only hurts if you don't come to class and miss them. We played with manipulatives and class was very enjoyable. Definitely take her! |

Dr. Ferguson is the best math teacher I have ever had. Her approach to teaching is very interactive, and almost all work in class is group work. She will answer any and every question, and is readily available for extra help. I have never made higher than a B in a math class before, and got an A for the first time ever in her class! |
