MATH 1314 College Algebra
She knows her material. She is a very nice lady that can be reached during her office hours anytime. The material was explained thouroughly, even though I think we spent a little too much time on the stuff you should already know and not quite enough on the new. I had no problems in this class and I think most of the students would agree---as long as you went to class. The test are just like the review she hands out. The amount of homework is fair. It seems like we were behind most of the other math classes and did quite a few sections the last 2 weeks, but she gave you what you should and and changed homework accordingly. Overall, a good teacher |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra
Excellent professor. Knows her stuff very well, good explanations, enjoys teaching. Goes out of her way to be helpful, does not do departmental tests. You're required to memorize things instead of taking a graphing calculator into exams (for Calc I, anyway), although this is not as difficult as it sounds, since she gives plenty of in-class drill and review for the tough-to-memorize stuff. |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra
she is very knowledgeable and if you attend class and pay attention, there is no way you cannot pass it. i am german and still really did not have a problem understanding her english...it should be easy then for english speaking folks to understand her. i took intermediary algebra with a different teacher this semester, and turns out Jiang taught me very well! have no trouble keeping up my a. |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra
Very kind teacher who is patient and helpful during office hours. She also has abundant office hours and was always present for them. No in class quizzes and tests that are VERY reasonable. |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra
She is extremely nice. She makes sure everyone understands what she teaches. She is extremely easy to understand I'm really not sure why people say she is difficult to understand, she really isn't. Her test are the exact replica of the review and she spends a whoe class period going over it. Definitley recommend her! |

I love this guy!!! I absolutely hate math. If it's not 2+2 I don't know it. He makes it soooo easy. If you need to pass Algebra this is your man. He is great!! (and very funny!) Take him! |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra
He is a young teacher who any ACC student can relate to. He explains the problems where everyone can understand them. He knows what we are going through and makes his class enjoyable. He is always available for help with homework questions. |

MATH 1314 College Algebra
Mr.Karl is an AWESOME teacher! He explains things VERY well and goes over homework problems during every class period for about 20-30 minutes. In his class you have a decent amount of assigned homework, but you only have to turn in specific problems every other week. So it's not required to do it but gives you good practice and also helps yourself understand the assignment better. Mr.Karl is very passionate about math and will do anything to help you succeed and he is also very understanding. I was late to take a re-test but he waited for me w/o being mad. He knows students are people too and not just robots. He can tell who is committed and who slacks, so just make sure you pay attention and give him atleast some feedback to let him know you pay attention, he will definitely let you know he notices that and will respect you a little more. |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra
Professor Karl is a Great Math Teacher. He is passionate about math, and it shows. He is fair in his grading and occasionally will cut a person some slack.For someone who is relatively self-motivated in math, you will learn a great deal. I believe Professor Karl is who UT should require everyone taking the easy route for business math to take. |

I took this course over the summer and had to study a lot to keep up with the shortened term but Patrick was extremely helpful and always willing to help in and outside of class. He weighs heavily on class participation and does not require you to submit your homework. However he does ask you to do homework problems on the board. The homework, quizzes and reviews he gives you are tailored specifically to what is on the test and preparation for what you will see in Calculus. |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra
he makes the material very easy to understand and he will go over it with you until you learn it. He has a web site with videos to help and he also tutors outside of class. he is very committed to helping. |

She allows you to make a cheat sheet. You do not have to do your homework on time, just do it before the semester ends. She gives a take home quiz. Her grading system is exam 90 points + homework 10 + extra credit 10 points total 110 you can get maximum. Moreover, If you miss exam do not worry, you can make up exam. Nice teacher |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra

Very Fast Paced, entertaining, and very informative. The Test were fairly easy if one studied the review. He was very strict about attendance. He gave quizzes every morning. IN the end if you don't give up and kick butt in the final you can earn a B or A for sure! : ) |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra
He is a great teacher and helps you if you go to his office hours. He is a tough grader and if your forget X= uhhh thats a -1. He hates calculators and he is awesome. Test are straight from the reviews so study those and you should pass the exam. Dont slack on the first test you will regret it b/c the class only get harder. |

She explains things well and gives plenty of examples. Tests are over the exact things she says they will be. Homework is due at the beginning of every week, and is not overwhelming at all. |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra
She's a nice person. Grading system allows you to miss a few homework turn-ins. Lemme explain. HW is due every Monday, no late work accepted period. It counts towards your participation grade. Once you get over something like 120 participation points the rest can count towards a test grade. I ended up getting 120 points (an a in participation) and an extra 20 which I could add to a test grade. |

Very well organized teacher, always in her office hours if you need to discuss something with her. Her lectures are fair and cover the materials needed for the class. I def. recommend her for College Algebra! Her grading systems composed of 4 Practice Problem worth 10%4 Tests Worth 60 %And a Cumulative Final worth 30%Homework adds 5 extra points to the tests! Which i found really helpful, becuase who doesn't make stupid mistakes from time to time?Although the subject was boring at hand, she did well to cover material and tried to make sure no one was confused. If you have questions, def don't be afraid to ask!5/5! |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra
Ms. Bui is a great teacher. She clearly explains the material. Completed homework is given as extra points on the tests. Do the homework and you shouldn't have a problem |

MATH 1314 College Algebra
Great teacher. His lectures are interesting and well planned. Very good at explaining things. There is a lot of homework to do and it is up to you to do it because it only counts as extra credit at the end of the course. I kept up with the homework and found the tests challenging but not as hard as the harder homework problems. Quizzes were usually on Wednesdays and at the end of the lecture and were usually only two problems. I looked forward to going to class. |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra
David Woods is an awesome teacher. I took college algebra with him, and I am typically horrible at math, mostly because I've always had bad teachers. However, I got an A in his class! He explains things really clearly and relates math to the real world so that it is easier to conceptualize. His test can be difficult, but he really gets you prepared for them. He really seems to enjoy teaching math and is also very approachable if you have a problem. I definitely reccomend this teacher if you want to do well! |

MATH 1314 College Algebra
He tries hard to explain and is willing to help you out. Do the homework everytime; if you don't, you might not remember the problems he worked in class (I didn't when I didn't do my homework). Also, he gives 10 extra credit points for each test if you turn in all the homework before the test. However, he does assign a lot of homework, but I think it is because practice makes perfect! |
||

MATH 1314 College Algebra
Prof Mota was a great instructor who is really interested in the success of his students. He will take the time to answer questions inside and outside of class, and his lectures are easy to understand and taught in a comprehensive manor. I had not taken Algebra in over a decade and could easily follow his steps and lectures. He gives notice every time he has a quiz or test and offers reviews outside of class as well. |

MATH 1314 College Algebra
At first I had a really hard time getting acclimated to Mr. Paige's teaching style. He does not lecture, which was extremely frustrating for a while. I was seriously considering dropping the class during the first couple of weeks because I was convinced that Mr. Paige was just a lazy teacher that didn't want to put forth the effort to actually teach. HOWEVER - I have learned more in this math class than I have in ANY other math class I have taken, and I am extremely glad that I stuck with it. I can still remember things we went over in the first few weeks of class, which is not usually the case. If you are a lazy student and do not want to go to class or seek help when you need it (whether from your instructor during office hours, your textbook, your peers, or from the Learning Lab tutors) then I would not recommend taking the class. My class, in particular, was full of students with varying degrees of algebra knowledge, and it was beneficial to all of us. Mr. Paige really does care about his students' understanding of the material. He encourages the class to think outside of the box and experiment with what he teaches, which WILL lead to a better understanding of math in general...I promise. This was one of the best math classes I have had, and has been a huge test of my patience and mathematical skills. His tests can be a little tricky, as Mr. Paige likes to challenge his students beyond what has been discussed in class. He encourages students to learn the material inside and out, backward and forward, and does his best to coach students into thinking more in-depth about the material. He has a great sense of humor and is willing to actually teach, so I would recommend taking his class, ESPECIALLY if you plan on going on to other math classes! |

MATH 1314 College Algebra
She is super nice, and seems to really enjoy math. She's pretty good at explaining everything in simple ways, and has a fairly favorable grading policy. Homework is worth 30% of your grade, and she mostly checks it for completion. Also, she drops three homework grades. The homework she assigns is much harder than the problems she gives on tests, so if you thoroughly understand all the homework, you'll do well. She works at one of the learning labs, and goes out of her way to be available by e-mail if you have questions. She answers homework questions in class, and lets you turn it in during her office hours, which will give you an extra hour. |

MATH 1314 College Algebra
He's hard, unless you are good at math like me. His tests are fairly hard, and you get a lot of homework, but if you do your homework, study hard, pay attention, and are good at math you will have no problem getting an A.Tests are long. But if you go over it with a tutor he gives you 5 points extra. So my 85 becomes a 90.Homework takes about 2-3 hrs, with about 20 or less problems.He gets easier to understand the more you sit and listen to his lectures. He's old enough to be my grampa. Occationally he lapses into stories about how he used his math skills to the protection of the free world. He used to work for the airforce as a mathmetician. He is kind and easy to get along with. Just try hard and you'll do well. |

MATH 1314 College Algebra
Mr. Owidi is a great teacher and really takes the time to explain things to people when they don't understand. He spent too much time answering homework/quiz/test questions in class though which is frustrating if algebra comes easily to you, but if math isn't your best subject then he's right on the money. Take advantage of the time he goes over the test to ask questions about any problems you've missed because sometimes he marks things wrong that are actually right, and if you point it out to him he'll change your grade for you. |
