About MyEdu

MyEdu improves student graduation rates, reduces the time to complete a degree and saves families a significant amount of money in the process.

MyEdu was founded in 2008 by Michael Crosno, Chris Chilek and John Cunningham. The company, formerly Pick-A-Prof, officially transitioned to MyEdu in the summer of 2009 and launched data and beta applications in January 2010. To date, over 1 million students have used our tools to succeed in college.

We share a deep conviction that achieving a college degree improves the lives of individuals, families and society more than any other endeavor. Our goal is to reverse some alarming trends in higher education:

  • Only 53% of college students will graduate within 6 years
  • The average timeframe to earn a college degree is 5.3 years and rising
  • 65% of students and their families will graduate with high levels of debt

The Story Behind Our Name

The name "MyEdu" (pronounced my-E-D-U) is short for "My Education". Why? Your education experience is like a fingerprint - everyone's is unique and different. From the school(s) you attend, to your major and the courses you choose, you create your own path toward achieving a degree.
