Professor Bostwick is without a doubt, one of the best professors I've had in my five+ years at ASU. Professor Bostwick, in addition to teaching at ASU, is an archaeologist with the City of Phoenix. His experiences as an archaeologist are incredibly interesting to learn about, and he has so many random bits of information that fun to learn and wouldn't be taught in other history classes. You can tell how passionate he is about the southwest, particularly Arizona, and it's just so cool to learn about the wonderful state that we live in. He grades fairly and is very clear with all expectations on all assignments. There are only two exams during the entire semester; a mid-term and a final. And the good news is that the final isn't cumulative. Other assignments include a museum review and a 7-10 page research paper. At first, I thought the research paper would be a lot of work, but since we're able to choose our own topics, it can be as interesting or as boring as you make it.

Bostwick is AMAZING! Take this class if you have any interest in anything from the southwest! If you're from a southwest state (Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New MExico) you must take this class! There's no homework except for reading. There are no tests, only a midterm and a final. The midterm covers material from the first half of the class while the final covers the last half of the class. There are occasional quizzes to make sure that you're doing the reading, and he counts class attendance for points. You also have to write a paper on ANYTHING that has to do with the southwest, that's really easy because you can pick anything you're interested in. He's a nice guy and knows tons of facts about things that have to do with the southwest. Too bad he only teaches one class. He also uses the (+/-) system so if you need an easy GPA boost, take this class!!!
