Terry Cooper loves his craft and it shows in every lecture. He is up there, always upbeat and humorous, and spilling out his wealth of academic and real world knowledge in a supremely entertaining way for us to chew on. You will not BELIEVE the things that he says! He is also very honest and down to earth. Down to the nitty gritty now: TESTS: He has only three tests in his class. They are all multiple choice. None are cumulative. He includes silly questions on his tests to help loosen up those of us who suffer from test anxiety. It's nice of him. If you miss a test, you have a week to make it up...even more if you talk to him early on about it. He even helped a student who couldn't attend class for a month to make up her test! BOOKS: He has written all the information you will ever need for the class in a little book that you purchase at the bookstore for about $9, so there is NEVER a need to buy a book unless you just want it for reference. It's his way of saving students money. Because he provides his own book for us, he only includes the pertinent information that he feels is important to know...no fluff. As a result, there is very little note taking in his class and more time to participate....you will find yourself participating like you never have before!SYLLABUS: He treats us all like adults. If you pay for your class and only want to come for the tests, he really doesn't care. You paid for your class and you can attend as you see fit. I really appreciate this, personally. It is the kind of adult to adult respect that so many other professors lack.
